14 year old girl killed by dogs!

Awwwwwww
I love snuggling with my doggie but she's not the most cuddly dog, she's quite bony ;) xx

Tia is just a fat lump who gives you dead legs lol xx

I think it was cruel for the owners to keep that many dogs in one place... I have a Staffy x who's lovely but any animal in a pack environment is going to act more wild. RIP to that poor girl. Hope the owner gets prosecuted

There was a 5th dog that wasn't put down wasn't there? Do we know what breed that was? xx

Strange how they have not destroyed one of the dogs? I don't see how they would know it wasn't involved, if the girl was alone in the house?xx

The newspapers said they were two Bull mastiffs, two Staffordshire bull terriers and an American bulldog. None of these are on the banned list though. 4 of them attacked but the 5th dog was shut in another room and that's how they knew it wasn't involved.

We were disussing this last night, I think a lot more has happened than what we've been told, there's more to it than a meat pie.

It says that dog was subdued. I can't believe they haven't taken it though as they are most wanted dogs?
Xx

It's awful that this has happened :( I feel that there was more to this than what has been reported...they attacked simply because the girl was eating a meat pie? From what has been stated about how the owner was aware that at least one of her dogs was aggressive, what on earth is she doing leaving a child (regardless of age) alone with them all? She shouldn't be leaving her dogs with any child unsupervised at any time whether they're aggressive or not.

I've been nipped and snapped at by family Jack Russells, and they hadn't shown any prior signs of aggression, therefore I would never ever leave any children alone with any dog as I'm only too aware of how they can easily "turn".

I have two staffies and it breaks my heart that yet again they are in the spotlight. My two are teddy bears and completely adore my LO and my near 16 year old son but I won't leave my children alone with them. I can't 100% trust them as I don't completely understand them...they are an animal at the end of the day...a different species.

It does sadden me though because I remember the most amazing times as a child that I've had rolling about playing with dogs from all different breeds that were part of our family. My views have completely changed about how and when my dogs are allowed around my children due to the reports of dog attacks. I guess because nothing major happened to me with the dogs I was growing up with (a nip and a snap didn't make me afraid of dogs) I was 100% comfortable with dogs, but I'm not 100% now with the stories that I hear/read/am told about attacks.

BTW I'm most probably classed as a stereotypical staffy owner...tattoos, piercings  But I'm as much a teddy bear as my two staffies are :) x

Aw thanks hun, I think so :)
I have to guard her from every dog when out walking because every dog is bigger than her ;)
She misses our yorkie almost as much as I do (she died last year age 15) but she now hangs around with our two rescue kitties (who are also twice her size!) xx
