What are you gonna put in there and how many of what? Those of you planning to breastfeed, are you gonna take a bottle and some milk with you just in case..? x

i will be taking 4 babygrows a few bodysuits and a going home outfit nappys wipes and sudocreme dummy and a shawl i will have more packed at home if needed as was in a while last time round if you bottle feed the hosp give you milk you dont need to take it in with you

Ive packed one of my bottles, even though Im planning on breastfeeding. The hospital will provide bottles and milk if for some reason you cant breastfeed for a while. I wanted to pack my own bottle though cos if I cant breastfeed I at least dont want baby chopping and changing teats when we go home.

Ive packed a million things though, so not sure if Im the best role model!!!

I am planning on breasfeeding but was wondering in case it doesn't go to plan etc... How exciting :-) Will start putting stuff together :-)

Tiny, I am a million things packer as well so you can be my role model - tell me!!!!!

I have 5 sleepsuits, 5 babygrows, a coming home outfit, 5 pairs of socks 3 muslin squares, 10 bibs, 2 pairs scratch mittens 2 hats and a pair of baby booties...is that too much?

I also have a blanket, 1 pack of 27 nappies and 1 pack of baby wipes and a little travel talc, baby oil, baby shampoo and baby top n tail!! Do you need to pack bottles and if so how many?

Haha, it is quite a lot but that is what I would take as well! I am hoping to give birth in the morning or so, so I could get out the same day if everything goes well but you never know... I am not sure about bottles, I think I will take one just in case, just so baby will carry on with the same bottle (as tiny said) although I am hoping to breastfeed. If you definitely want to bottle feed then again I think it will be nice if he/she can keep using the same bottle (that's if he/she likes the teat). I went through 5 different bottles/brands with Brandon and he only liked the Philips Avent one.

this is what Ive packed for myself...I had to start a thread, its a ridiculous amount! http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/third-trimester/127485-my-hopsital-bag.html

FOr baby, Ive packed some tiny baby and some newborn sized clothes. A variety of outfits cos I couldnt decide what to dress him in to go home  hats, mittens, socks. fleece blanket, bottle (just incase), a baby toy (im embarrased about that now Ive admitted it!) half a pack of newborn nappies. 4 muslins, a pack of baby wipes, sudocrem pot. Johnsons baby wash stuff. Think thats it. The bags are in the boot now so I cant check! Also means I cant add anything, OH was onto me and knew the longer the bags were out the more he'd have to carry into the hospital for me when the time comes!!

I am planning to bottlefeed baby so might pack 2 bottles to be on the safe side!! I just don't want to forget anything!!!

I would like to be out the same day too but i want to be prepared for everything!!!

How many nappies is everyone taking?

How much are you taking for yourselves?

If you are planning to bottle feed maybe take 2 bottles with different teats just in case... Babies can be very fussy even if they don't know what to choose from

Best to be prepared, of course! Do you have anyone who can go and get you more things in case you need to stay in longer etc?

I can see that tiny is taking half a pack of nappies, I was thinking of taking the whole pack of 27... Is that crazy?

I haven't started packing my own yet, I shall have a look into tiny's hospital bag thread and start packing

Ive packed the changing bag too, which Im leaving at home but will be getting OH to bring in if I have to stay longer for some reason. Thats got a change of clothes for LO, and more nappies etc...

Well Ill be using mine tomorrow and after seeing your lists Im wondering if I have enough lol!
This is what I have in the baby bag:
4 Vests
3 Sleepsuits
1 Going home outfit
1 Blanket
2 Burping Cloths
1 Bib
3 Scratch mittens
3 Socks
3 Hats (I couldnt decide which design I wanted  )
6 Nappies
Nappy cream
Wipes
Cotton balls (midwives kept telling us to put these in our bags for baby)
Oh and some disposable changing mats incase baby wees on the bed or something while shes being changed.

Think thats it. Looks like alot in a list, but its only filling the boots changing bag and doesnt look like alot laid out. :)

If I were you Id put more nappies in. They dont take up too much space and it would be awful to run out!!

I might stick another 2/3 in. Ive got a spare bag with some bits for me and baby in (well its not packed yet....think Im in deniel its all happening tomorrow lol) that Ill leave at home incase we need to stay in longer....I can see why you put your bags in the car already. I might end up with about 4 bags by the end of tonight! lol

I would take more nappies as well! :)

I am taking the Boots chaning bag as well for baby, will put everything in there! And more in mine if it doesn't fit  x

Oh yeah my OH can come home to get more bits and i'm sure both our mums will be more than willing to bring us more stuff!!! lol!! Any excuse to see the baby!!!

I have packed one whole pack of 27!!! I just worried incase like what happened to my friend she thought she would be home the same day but had to be kept in for 3 days and i wanted to be prepared for that!!!

It feels like i might have to get the big suitcase out soon with the amount i have piling up lol!!!

Tiny i was considering taking a teddy to the hospital for the baby as my OH was adamant on buying baby it's first teddy (which he has now bought it 3) and was thinking of taking that to place next to baby in it's cot!!

I think Ill end up spending the night in hospital but Ive got a seperate bag to be brought to hospital if that happens. Im only planning on spending minimum amount of time in (the 6 hours) so Im taking enough for that and if I need more...Im sure one of my 'slaves' can get more stuff lol

I'm sure you will have plenty of volunteers to help you esp if it means they get the smallest of glances at your baby!!! Any signs that it could all happen tonight Melio? My friends sister was eating her dinner the night before her induction and baby decided it was time to make an appearance!!

Nope no signs. I did think today, most people say they go into labour the day before their induction as theyre more relaxed. Just having the same contractions Ive been having for the past week lol. Bring on tomorrow I say :D

I packed the pack of 27 as well! And some baby gros and sleepsuits, muslin cloths, dummies, scratch mitts, a hat, sudocrem. Still more things to go in, thank god I have more room in baby's bag :-)

Must be so exciting for you Melio, bet you're fed up! Good luck and I shall be keeping my eyes on updates! :-) xx
