Worried again after someones comment today!

I am now worried as someone said to me that there's still a high risk of losing one twin even at 18 20 weeks and beyond! I was starting to think I could relax now and enjoy it but she's right it does happen alot to people. I dread the scans every 2 weeks coz I don't know if they will both have heartbeats or not, coz if these comments! I should be considering myself lucky but I'm terified something like that could go wrong. Wish I could have counselling for the worry coz it is taking over my life. Don't dare but anything and avoiding telling ppl for aslong as poss incase I lost one. Does anyone know statistics on twin survival or anything? Sorry to be negative, it's just how I feel.

Don't have any statistics but worrying won't help. Easier said then done especially by someone not in your situation. I think it's very insensitive of this person to make these comments. Try to keep positive Hun. I believe that in time you will prove them wrong and you'll have two bundles of joy keeping you on your toes. Big hugs.xx

Tell whoever said that to sod off! People are full of 'useful' information when your pregnant but you should only listen to the professionals. Give your midwife a call tomorrow maybe for a chat? You two LO's will be fine! Just think in about 2 years they'll be running rings around you!

Thanx girls just scared every 2 weeks wen I have a scan there will be a problem, and want to enjoy it but can't! Even if I have a Doppler then I wouldn't easily be able to find them both! Will I know tge difference wen 2 kick? Sorry to keep going on, I'm

Of course you are worried but don't let people get to you with silly comments. Keep faith in yourself and your little babies that you will all keep fighting. So sorry some people don't think before they speak xx

I read a review on a Doppler where the woman said (when her baby's were older) they learnt to distinguish the 2 heart beats. So you might be able to do that too in a few weeks?

Oh Princess I can't believe someone has been so insensitive, please don't take any notice of them. I know I have been worrying the same thing really but probably not so much. I think we just have to go with the flow. As someone else said, worrying about it won't make any difference anyway.

Oh and when we heard the heartbeats at wk16 we could differentiate quite easily between the two because one was quite a bit faster than the other so I reckon you won't have a problem with a doppler.

I do hope no-one else comes out with any more callous comments tho - I've been lucky no-one has said anything like that to me but of course they know that would clock them one if they did!

I def think it's worth speaking to your midwife tho - even to just put your mind at rest a bit.
