I have waited a long time to post in this section, so thought I should get on and do it!
I had an antenatal appointment at the hospital on Saturday 21st, it took two midwives, a doctor and a scan to determine my little bundle had turned and was once again breech.
So I was back on the Tuesday at 3.30pm, Christmas eve, to see the consultant about our options. Of course the options were c section or c section. The consultant said they would not be at all happy to attempt a breech delivery, I knew they wouldn't so was prepared to be booking a section.
We walked with the consultant to find the midwife with 'the' diary. Standing in front of her I felt a rather large gush of fluid, erm......have i just pee'd myself, oh some more.......okay better say something! The midwife offered Friday as the earliest they could do........I told them I felt rather erm 'wet'. So off to loo I rushed had a look sat on the loo....gush! So yes my waters had gone. I think it must have been where the doc had a feel of my tum which was really tight. Another doctor came to examine me and almost got hit in the face by a squirt my waters, the midwife let out a discreet chuckle.......comedy moment!
Anyway we were rushed through to a room (yes, luckily hubby had come with me) and prepped for surgery. It was all very overwhelming and poor hubby actually went a bit grey and felt a bit faint! But all was well, the section was pretty much what I expected. I did feel quite nervous which I think was evident to all, but I am sure most people are!
My beautiful little girl was delivered at 16.49 and weighed 7lb 11oz. It felt like an age for them to bring her over to me, hubby went and took a pic for me on my phone so I could see her. then the midwife bought her over and I just fell in love instantly, that rush of emotion is a beautiful feeling.
After a sleepless night but a day of quick recovery, a pretty good christmas dinner and my asking on every occasion if I could get home we left the hospital at around 6 in the evening. I was in agony when we got home but it was all worth it to be home with my princess and hubby!
I feel blessed that I have been able to experience the joys of having another child, it wouldn't have been long before it would have been too late! So a big thank you to my husband for carrying my new tv to the car for me 2 1/2 years ago and then proceeding to ask me to marry him and wanting to have a child with me, love him so much!
If you got to the end of that well done and thank you x x
