I know it's one of those topics where ladies either tend to tell everyone or tell no one and i was one of the former.

I tell everyone

Up until yesterday, i was undecided if i'd done the right thing or not considering we need to have IVF and things so it's going to take time but yesterday my mum made me so glad that i'd told everyone.

She phoned me up about my cousin and the BFP xmas card

She was basically asking if i was ok about it, which was sweet, but then she went on to say that when she found out it made *her* really sad even though she wanted to be happy for them because she thought it was so unjust and it made her realise how badly she wanted me to have a baby.

It was like she was feeling exactly the same as me.

Anyway, it was just a huge weight lifted off me - like the upset was shared.

I know you ladies are great, but it's different when it is someone in real life who wants the same baby. It was nice :)

Your mum sounds ace. Bless her for doing that. So much goes unsaid and can lead to a lot of quiet hurt when really it helps everyone to share it.
Xx

aww thats lovely

Mum's always know how to make us feel better.

I agree there are good points and babd points about people knowing you are ttc, i didnt tell out of choice but now both our familys know they are more sensitive about other peoples pregnancies and babies.

AND they don't ask me every couple of days

"any baby news for us?"
"ooh your having an extra cake, are you eating for two?"

I'm MIL works in maternity and is obsessed with babies :(

"any baby news for us?"

Lol nightmare!!

I've only told my MIL (and only cos got her to check the vitamins cos she's a nurse), my mum might know cos back in the summer I thought I was preg but wasn't and told her that. When people at work asked what I was doing at Xmas I said it was a quiet one just us this year as we hoped it'd be the last Xmas just us. So I've only told one out and out but I'm sure others have worked it out. A nice mix.

You can't beat your Mum :) She sounds fab. xxxx

Your mom sounds really great LouiseB!

I have told a really near friend and she is the only one that know's we're trying. She just got her BFP but she is really supporting me and it's good to have someone to talk to!

Don't want to tell family yet. If I'm not pregnant within a couple of months and we start IVF, I will tell them...but not before that...
