It feels like i have ages to go, so i'm a bit cautious with regards buying clothes etc for my little one.
Does anyone know when would be the best time to actually start buying the stuff that i need?
I've got a couple of gift items but nothing basic like babygros, blankets, cot, etc.

i was very reluctant to buy things,
and a friend may me buy my *going home outfit* from that day on i cant stop buying lil things...

i have all the stuff i need now (clothing wise) for the first 3months.. and few for 3-6month, i plan to buy as i go along..

you buy whenever your ready..

from about 25weeks my addiction began xx

I have been buying from early on! I have most things now! I think I will be bored when I run out of things to buy!? :? haha

I got given nearly all we have clothes wise from my brother who has 3 boys. But I bought basics from primark too, like plain white vests pack of 5 for £2, blankets for £2-£3 socks and bibs etc, then just got other things bit by bit each month

Ive got loads of baby grows, a sleeping bag and a cute lttle winter coat...but didnt buy any of them! They are from the OHs mum and mine!!

We started buying stuff from 12 weeks! It can seem a bit daunting when you think of everything you will need but make a list and buy a little bit each time you go out looking for stuff, then cross it off as you get it, you'll soon have everything you need

Yea although a lot of people are cautious, if you leave it too late you have to buy in bulk and its a huge wodge of cash to spend all at once..nothing wrong with buying bit by bit now..
Ive still got loads to get, but this is coz Im a lazy moo :rotfl:

Personally I would say start getting stuff now! Its just a nice time in your pregnancy and in a few weeks time you will feel massive and really uncomfortable, so probably wont feel like waddling round the shops! I found I couldnt walk too far once I reached about 34 weeks and bump started to get really heavy, there was constant pressure in my pelvis, got tired really quickly, feet and ankles used to swell and ache and then also had to stop for a wee every ten minutes! So I would defo start stocking up soon before you get to that stage. Its nice to have a bit of a browse around the shops in the final weeks, but without the pressure of needing to iykwim x

I second this!! I had everything by 35 weeks and was so glad for it as after that I was too shattered to even get to the shops let alone wonder round them

Oh yes, definitely thirded, don't leave it too late or you really won't feel like traipsing round the shops. Mind you having said that, a lot of the good stuff is online anyway :D

Also dont rely on people buying you much that actually fits from the start, We were given loads of gorgeous clothes but all in 3-6 months and I still had to go and get a few more sleepsuits in newborn size in the first week as we were getting through several a day and the wash couldnt keep up! They are cheap enough in Tesco or Asda and its saves doing a wash everyday when you have better things to do like cuddling your LO. :D I didnt buy stuff till quite late too, our pram was delivered the day after she was born cos we left it late, luckily the carseat was seperate! :D
