So I've got two moby slings and I intend to wear bubba to and from school rather than lugging the pram all the way out just for a 20 minute walk and I also plan on using it for trips to town and out and about for first few months. I was wondering if/when there are other times other people wear their babies for example when hoovering or hanging washing out (household tasks)?

I wear mine (or wore should i say.... bloody dog chewed the clips off the other night!!!!) whilst doing things around the house when he won't settle in his pram x

yea i used to wear my two round the house when they wouldnt settle! i wore E practically constantly cos it was so much easier than the double buggy to get around places! when i go to the hospital i've started wearing her again to make it easier, tho she's that heavy now i'm not sure i'd be able to do it for long!!

Cool thanks! Do you think it'd be best to wear him when he's unsettled then put him down when he's settled? x I can't wait! Can you tell?!

tbh i used to find once they were settled, just leave them in there cos they wake up!! it is so exciting wearing them, i loved it!!

Haven't heard that! Ooooh anyone else know if it's true? x

Haven't heard it and I always wore jack, all day some days I still wear him when I go shopping and to walk the dog :) best feeling ever :) he gets all excited now when I get the babyhawk out

i think it got something to do with there backs?

I know that you shouldn't put babies in a car seat for more than two hours when they're newborn as it can affect their backs, necks and breathing but in slings and baby carriers they are laid flat (but upright in some cases) so no damage is caused to their backs. It's like lying them flat in a Moses basket but baby is upright rather than horizontal x I could be wrong though x

fair enough then  cuz i cant wait to wear Noa in my moby!

I can't wait either!!!! X

I used to wear Niamh in the moby wrap all the time. I would put the wrap on in a morning and would leave it on for most of the day so that i could just pop her in whenever i needed to. I used it for shopping, cooking, cleaning, school run etc, I even mastered going to the toilet!!
Niamh had to be tube fed for 3 months and I couldn't hold her and feed her, so i would put her in the moby whilst i fed her.
I'm pretty sure there is no time limit for how long you wear them (there is for the baby bjorn type carriers) just make sure they don't get too hot.
I loved wearing my baby but now she's a big girl and just wants to walk everywhere!

Aw thank you x that's so lovely to hear x

i dont think there can be a time limit really, cos places like africa, they wear their babies practically 24/7! like bex said tho, the more structured types theres a limit on when they're little! i've heard those types have links to hip dysplasia too!

I was just thinking this today that in other countries like Africa babies are carried costantly x the moby sling isn't structured so no worries there x thank you so much x

i cant imagine its good to wear a wee baby in a babybjorn or something like that for too long, same with those baby bouncers, they have a very narrow seat so would be uncomfortable

i wear Jasper ALL THE TIME at the moment, hes teething like a goodun and its just easier to sling him, hes happy and not screaming and if he does scream at least he knows i am right there

its really handy for making the dinner, putting the washing out to dry and getting some down time without him being screamy or demanding i play with him :)

Now Seb's here I wear him as often as my back and shoulders allow me. Usually on school runs and for trips to the shops as it's easier than the pram! I'm much more at ease when wearing him and he looks and feels much more comfortable x

Hi, what clothes do you put your little one in when out and about in the sling? Last time I went out with bubs in a vest, babygro, and fleecy snowsuit, and I think he was way too hot (I was sweating by the time I got home from a ten minute walk!). I don't want him to be cold but not too hot either!

Thanks x
