OK my little boy Alastair is 2! we live about 15 min walk from town and Ali is really little for his age, and atm he is still in his push chair, as i know he wouldnt manage walking there and back.....so im thinking about next April which is only 25 weeks away  do i buy a double buggy or a pram and hope Ali is walking much better by then?????

Any advice ladies please???? or what would you do ????

I'd be tempted to wait and see for now and leave the final buying till a lot later. But there's no harm in searching for both in the meantime so you know what you want. Also look into baby carriers and perhaps buggy boards?

i'd get a doubble buggy however when i had Emma i made james walk alot of the time although he was a keen walker (i started getting him to walk from 18 months onwards) and i brought a normal pram and put emma in the sling so he could have the pushchair when he got tired, i have a 2 year and 2 month age gap between my 2 :D

Ive been thinking about the self same thing hun

Im not sure what to do either ie: use tias pram with a buggy board on the back, use the pram and buy a nice sling or get a new double tandem buggy where the back lays flat for a newborn

Decisions decisions

I'm thinking the same thing as well  I quite like the Phil & Teds buggy (althought expensive) its nice as either a single or double buggy. Also LO can lye flat. But the reviews I have read are 50/50?? so really not sure what to do.

I looked at the phil and teds too but when i tested it in the shop went right off it. The seat on the front is literally an inch away from the new baby underneath and the height of the underseat is perfect for dogs to stick heads in, people drop fag ash on as they walk past etc I really dont think they are very safe at all and quite flimsy ( sorry if anyone has got one i just dont think theyre very safe)

I'm the exact same, still undecided what to do!

when i was pregnant with my 2nd i brought a double buggy, rion was only 18 months old and i didnt think it far to make him walk all the time, i thought it might make him think the baby was more important, we have always made sure they are treated exactly the same. the age gap between jack and the new baby will be simular so im just gonna wait and see if i need 2 get the double out again, rion was quite a slow learner and was walking later than jack, as hes walking now at just under 18 months, rion wasnt walking til 2 and 1/2. each child is different so id just wait and see

ditto - quite tempted to leave it until he is here. we will save the money before he is here for a double buggy just incase, but just see how it goes

alice really only uses hers when she is tired

I think I would go with a double buggy because if you need to go any where further than town or if Ali gets tired or is poorly it might end up with you feeling stranded if you have no other option - or what about one of those buggy boards as a compromise? Never used one myself but a friend of mine swears by hers xx

I'm hoping to carry this one as much as possible but will see how we get on once he is here - Brody will have just turned 2 a couple of weeks before and he can't walk great distance yet.

I can see myself getting addicted to buying carriers now though :wall:
