What to wear in the birth pool??

I bought a cheap tankini for £10 im gona wear that if I get a chance

I had a tankini packed and was planning on wearing the top in the pool but the second I got in the room all my clothes came off and stayed off ha. It was so warm in the and the pool temp is also quite warm so I felt close to passing out a lot. I know anything on my skin would have made it worse. Everyone is different but it is true that once you're in that situation you really don't care, well it was for me anyway. Have a lovely safe labour and I hope you get your water birth. It really is amazing xxx

I didn't have a water birth but I did find what I wore during labour made a difference. Everyone says you won't care and you well may not but I was still more comfortable staying covered up for most of labour. By the time I was pushing I didn't care much but that was only the last hour out of 38! Funny enough after the birth the midwife got me in the shower and I stripped off before she left without caring at all! By that time I felt like she knew me well enough, lol. So I'd say find something you are comfortable in and discard it when you want to.

I tried on all my bikini tops from my hol last sept... None it haha!

Im just wearing a vest thin vest top if i manage to still get a waterbirth x

I hardly get naked infront of OH now so i no no matter what pain i wont end up in the nude lol.

What i have planned i think will be alright! Thanks girls x

I was exactly the same but when the time comes you really won't care. I had a tankini, nightie, long vest tops and everything packed but in the end have birth in my bra and socks...classy! And wouldn't have cared of I was in Trafalgar Square. And yet now I won't even breast feed in most places I think you turn into a different person when in labour!x

I totally agree on that! I ended up with almost every midwife, consultant available having a feel up my foof if not a look to see what was going on by the end it felt like I was a tourist attraction. When they asked me to put disposable knicks on the day after when I was bloody soar not feeling like going all acrobat style to get knicks on to make two steps to the bathroom I was so annoyed it was because their could be dirty man on the hall way.It was the last thing that could bother me it wasn't even partner visiting hours so the dirty men must be the doctors that work there who had been all up there the night before and caused a battlefield.. :wall2: :wall2: I got in the bath with my vest top tho and realized I'd given birth in that on the land it all dried up lol but it rolled up to my boobs I suppose when I gave birth it was 25 degrees outside or so you may find yourself a lil' more covered up when its cold?

Hi something that we were told in antenatal class is if your partner is a man and coming into the pool with you to rub your back etc then please ask him to wear shorts.... Apparently the mws say that they have no problem with woman being naked but a man in tight Speedos or all out is a bit distracting for them !!!!!

lmfaoooo!!!
mikes guna be fully clothed OUTSIDE of the pool so no problem there!! :) he can lean over and rub haha xx

K8 I had to thank you for that as it made me right giggle! Speedos are well out of fashion! Still think a hot bloke in shorts can be distracting too for a midwife :p Mine were almost like having a tea party checking me over when necessary, leaving me to do my thing whilst chatting away about whatever.. Suppose they got to kill time too when your being a boring laboring women that only wants to curl up into a pillow and scream her head off hehe oh the memories :D Dani please do let us know how awesome the pool is int hospital and how you n Mike ended up doing it eventually I can't bloody wait for Noah to come out and read your birth story!

I realllly hope i get my water birth!!
As long as hes here before 11th i still should have it! Really dnt want to get induuuced :( lol!
Cumon nooooah!
