I was on the implant, was anybody else here? I've heard lots of stories of women getting pregnant very quickly after coming off the implant, I made the foolish mistake of thinking i'd be the same :shakehead:

You live and you learn though :)

Hey hun. I have only ever used condoms I tried the pill but it gave my bad headaches. He he

I was on Logynon pill for 15 years. I never had any symptoms or problems with it but the first month off it was a nightmare. Gl x

I was on cilest for about 4 years. Before that I was on dianette (have heard bad stories) for around 2 and not sure before that. Started taking the pill at 16 *cringe* and stopped at 26. Don't think I'll go back on it again. X

i was on mycrogynon pill for 3 years.. and i wont be going back on it either
i also had the implant 2 years before that but had periods every 2-3 weeks
while my sis and sis-in-law never had periods with it :/ x

Been on the pill for ten yrs but 3 diff types: was on trinordial but then they discontinued it. Was then put onto logynon but changed to cileste for the last yr as started experiencing nightmares of AF's when Id never really suffered before. Then came off that to ttc :-)

I was on cilest for about 10 years. Was fine for the first 5 years then started suffering with bad period problems and irregularity. I came off them about 6 months before we started TTC. To my surprise on my first cycle I got BFP. xxx

I was on the pill (Loestrin 20) for about 6 years and never really had any problems with it, infact hope to go back on it after

As soon as my sis in law got implant out she was preg straight away without a period xxx

sorry for the poohy spelling :(

I was on mycrogynon for about 8 years and now onto my 4th cycle. TBH I have never known anyone in "real life" who got pregnant straight away after coming off birth control. Docs said to me to expect to take at least 6 months and most of my friends were between 6 months and a year!!
I thought exactly the same about getting pregnant straight away tho!!
xxxx

I went on pill when I was 20 and at that time the only reason I did was to try and sort out "nightmare" periods which I had every month. I had tried everything possible up until then.

At the end I was on microgynon. Came off it Feb 2010 and straight away my periods were regular and nothing like they were in earlier life. I got my BFP 9 months after stopping taking pill which was quicker than I expected as I had been on it for so long. Haven't decided whether I'll go back on it again.

Hey:wave:

I had hormonal coil (Mirena) and was very pleased. Before that I used Evra plaster and before that pills. With pills I had my son who gets four in autumn :cheer:
I suggest Mirena warmly, I will have it replaced after my second baby. It costs a bit much but its worth every cent

Hi Girls,

I was on Dianette for at least 10 years, still trying nearly a year on with 1 M/C and 2 possible chemicals.

my cycles used to be 38 days long for the 1st 6 months but the last 5 months have been getting shorter to 31 or 32, I think that 11 months on this pill is only just getting out of my system.

My advice to anyone reading this that is waiting to try, get of your pill ASAP and use condoms.

xx

Natural methods for us.

Withdrawal, timing around ovulation and use of sperm blocking lubricants.

It has worked for us, OH isn't 'leaky' at all (sorry if that's TMI!).

But it could be luck, it could be that we would have had trouble conceiving if were trying (on cycle one TTC now so we'll know that for sure in the next 12 months or so!) or it might just be that with a bit of care it does work.

I was on microgynon for about 8 and a half years. Came off last summer, and cycles have been regular-ish ranging from 26 to 32 days.

I can't really remember how regular my cycles were before being on the pill, but I think pretty regular as I had been living in a house full of girls for 6 years so all our cycles aligned.

What I have noticed now though is I get pain, both around AF time and at ovulation. Before going on the pill I never had any pain at all. I never had to sit with hot water bottles, or take pain killers back then. Maybe it's all psycological because I'm so aware of what's going on with my cycle and tracking every little thing!

I've never used any in my relationships. Might have used condoms a few times.

I'd just have a thorough wash down there afterwards with water.

Never been pregnant or had an STI and there is nothing medically wrong with me :)

I don't do medical intervention unless i'm told i'm dying :oooo:

Was on pill from 18 to control irregular periods (microgynon)

Tried implant for 6 months but bled (spotted really) every day in that time and eventually got it taken out and went back on microgynon

Was taken off microgynon summer 2008 due to high blood pressure that they believe is related to the hormones. Same happened to my mum at the same age. Blood pressure reduced immediately and has stayed low, which is a relief.

Went onto a progesterone only pill (can't remember which one) but had the same constant bleeding as the implant so stopped after about 6 weeks.

Used natural family planning (sort of) - a combination of monitoring cycles and condoms for two years until we started TTC summer 2010. Throughout that two years, cycles were really irregular. They settled down just before we started TTC.

I was on Mirena (the hormonal coil) for 5 years and I was very happy with it. I was one of the women that don't get any periods on it and that suited me just fine. Couldn't have the combined pill, didn't like the mini pill (lots of breakthrough bleeding and mood changes), couldn't have the copper coil either, and my OH didn't like condoms lol. So Mirena it was for me :)
