Contraception??!

I was on the injections for over a year before i fell pregnant halfway through an injection cycle..... I don;t trust em now.. but i suppose nothing is 100% other than NO MEN NO SEX rule! hahaha

I had a coil for 5 years before TTC and it worked fine for me up until i had it removed last september. The string bits had come away so they had a job getting it out but it was no worse than having an internal and it hasnt put me off having another one.

I am planning on having another one fitted as soon as i can as i had no problems, my periods were regular as clockwork and only lasted 3 days. I forgot it was there until we were ready to TTC and then my body returned to normal and i conceived in two cycles.

Obviously everyones experience is different but had to say they're not as scary as the sound (or look!!)

i used to be on the patch which i found really good they work the same as the pill one bonus u dont gain weight think i will be going back on them as soon as i have had baby

Anyone know which of these you can take while breastfeeding? The pill isn't an option, always affected my mood a huge amount and I know I can only take the mini pill when b/fding and there's no way I'd remember. We're not planning on having any more children, not for a long long time anyway. Any ideas?

I've been thinking about this as well, I don't want to have the injection as my mum had it once and got depression, and of course you can't do anything about it for 3 months! And a colleague of mine has got the implant, but no joke, I swear she's having more pregnancy symptoms than I am (and no, she's not ).
I was standing in the dispensary today though (I work at boots) and there was a list of contraceptive pills, probably about 15, so I guess you have lots to experiment with if you have problems!
Good point about breastfeeding though sal88, not sure what you are/aren't allowed :S

i think i have gone threw most of the flippin lot of them!! lol

had mycrogynon and changed after 2 years (no problems on it) to injection cos it lasted longer, had injection for 2yrs (put on 2 1/2 stone and never been able to shift it) then had a coil fitted for 1yr, i didnt have any periods with it, whcih was fantastic but i cud feel it when having sex, it was the worst pain ever having it fitted, and then simple removing it, big cough and out it came said the nurse - err thanks

then i went on the mini pill cerazette for a year until we got married and decided to start ttc, i had no periods and no real problems but it took me a full year to get it out my system and im only 23!!

we have said all along we dont want to wait too long b4 trying again for a little brother or sister for this little one, but i completely agree about passion killing condoms!!

my SIL & best friend has had the implant in and had to both be on the pill aswell cos they had bleeding everyday for 6 months, so im kinda not sure on that, and dont really fancy something i can see in my arm!!

so im unsure what i wana use, i like the fact the pill shouldnt really stay in your system a long time, but it did lastime and i didnt like that, specially cos i want more kiddies,but know damn well the no sex thing will be outa the window after a few weeks lol
