thanks for the custard powder tip mamafy would never have thought of that, LO loves the custard pots but they can work out quite expensive for 4 little pots, the custard powder will be much cheaper!

Hi! I just started giving him weetabix yesterday as he turned 6 months!
(can't believe where the time has gone, can you?)

The HV said give normal weetabix, with Cows milk as not the main drink (I was shocked at the cows milk), but he loves it! The baby ones are sooo expensive
He is rubbish with lumps at mo, so I let it mush up quite well and he only gags about twice (mildly) when having breakie, and I guess he is leaning then. All my puress are now sort of stage 2 , slightly chunkier, using a mini chopper instead of blender thing now, so big learning curve. Not having much luck with finger food , bit gaggy.

How are you doing?

ooo i usually give normal weetabix but with formula! i might try him with cows milk then??

Ooh that would be much easier if I can give cows milk! Also it gives you an insight on how they'll cope with it in the future :) I was told somewhere that you couldn't give normal weetabix because it had salt in it, but refused to buy baby stuff as it's so expensive!
Just looked at my weetabix box and it has 0.5g of salt per two biscuits with milk.... considering Lizzie would only have about half a biscuit I reckon it'll be ok :)

We are doing ok, I'm still doing purees to fill her up (she doesn't 'get' lumps!), but then in between meals she has finger foods which she mushes up and promptly dribbles down her front lol. The only thing she's ever actually chewed and swallowed has been one of those chocolate 'animal' biscuit things....not too keen to encourage that one though!
