im looking about for a new car and am not sure what to get?
i need to fit the pram in and definately want a 4 door
we dont want a brand new car as we are on a budget
what do u have, would u recommend it?

I did drive a corsa (3dr) but have got rid as it was far too small so i am currently looking for another car time is ticking as i need one before chrimbo :? as i go back to work in the new year.

OH has a vectra i actually like it. I feel more secure in a bigger car so will probably go for something like that.

Mine is a company car but i have a 5 door Ford Focus, 1.8l ghia, its great
A bit old now BUT its very good on fuel and has a bit of nip when i need to accelerate - parts are pretty cheap aswell

Buggy fits in the boot, car seat in the back and i think it will be ideal for us

Me too! I have a Nissan Sunny 5 door. It's on it's way out so looking for another. Seen a Honda Accord 4 door for £400. And there's a 3 door Golf GTI for £500 at the top of our road. But i refuse any other than a 4 door.

we have a Honda Jazz and it is fab! Great size boot!

I've had 3 nissans. all been excellent cars. one polo which was great for a while then we had prob after prob, worst car was a peugeot. We have a nissan almera 4 door at mo, it's not cool but it's ever so reliable with a generous boot.
I hope my nesting instinct extends to cleaning it before baby arrives, it's FULL of crap-rubbish, magazines, toys. spilled milk crumbs really embarassing  !

We have a Suzuki grand vitara XL7 which is a 7 seater 4x4 much needed for our family and dogs and an Audi A4 which was a christmas present from my mil last year (wouldnt have bought it myself), it has a big boot and is a nice drive but would have probably gone for something smaller if buying it myself.

I drive a 4x4........used to do a lot of motorway miles and feel much safer in something big!!

Personally I would buy an older larger car, over a newer smaller car anyday - but thats only as I still use motorways quite regularly, and seen some dreadful accidents!!

i quite like seat leons, golf mk4's and bora's - anyone know how big the boots are?

hyundai amica oooooh yeah :)

5-door V reg Corsa, great because of the 5 doors but not much boot space, I can just about get the pushchair in and that has to be a certain way up too.

Mxxx

i have got a citreon picasso and i love it there is so much room and so easy to get car seat and kids in and out, husband has got a vw golf but its more for work than family use

I cannot fault my nissan micra... and loads of people I have spoken to have said that their nissans have been good little runners. Sadly my car has one down side... Its too small. Its a 5 door but its still tiny and has no boot space. If I was to get another car... it would be a nissan note its apparently got loads of space and its a great family car.

a citroen c3 and sean's got a peugeot 106 (but only uses it for work anyway)

Hopefully getting a beamer soon :cheer:

I have a leon cupra r - not the brand new one. Mine is a 53 plate. The boot is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking at golfs but they are so common where we stay

I did have a 106 GTi that I loved until some guy decided it wanted to be written off :(

We did have an Audi A4 which was great space wise for the kids and pushchair etc, but a bit too expensive to run while Im on maternity pay so we down graded to a peugeot 307. Its still got loads of space inside and the boot is a good size for our massive travel system, plus it it pretty cheap to run. Its working really well for us at the moment :D :D Still want my Audi back though :shhh:

Definatley go for 4 doors though

Ha ha, I love it, you sound like my friend... she asked me what an MOT was the other day - shes been driving her car without one for the last 8 months it seems :wall:

I drive a Clio at the moment a new one, its 3 door - to small really. Buying an Astra, the new one, 5 door, they have a nice big boot, spacious inside, and im going for the diesel sxi version which comes with 150bhp, can be esily chipped up to 180bhp, meaning a very fast, safe, economical car - bonus's all round. You are looking at about 10k though.

EDIT - I was going for a MK4 golf, as i think this is the best shape - and the diesel gti is faster than the petrol. But there are far to many about these days, nice as they are. (Saying that, there are tons of Astra's too... you cant win) The golfs a great looking car though, as is the Leon, I want diesel though and the ONLY one that looks good IMO is the cupra R.
