what cars do you drive?

Ive got a new VW Beetle

REEEEALLY dont want to get rid of it so Im hopin the boot will be big enough for a pram

OH is my chauffeur

Can't afford another car/lessons for moi at the mo, I don't mind getting driven aboot tho.....never have to be the designated driver :rotfl:

A black 5 door Vauxhall Corsa, 04 plate. It's an ideal size for the three of us, and the boot's big enough for our Silvercross..nothing else though!

I got rid of my three door Vauxhall Corsa before Chloe was born as the pram wouldn't fit in the boot. Swapped it in for a 54 reg Toyota Corrolla, love my new car as it has four doors so much easier when getting the car seat in even with an Isofix base.

we have a t reg (1999) Vauxhall Astra Sxi 3 door.... it seems big enough for what we need when baby comes and the boot aint a bad size. Its never needed much work doing on it and parts are cheap for it.. its a 1.6 so quick enough when it needs to be... we also have a weekend car which my OH has just fully restored over the summer and that's a C reg Escort Series 1 RS Turbo and shes stunning and also big enough for baby :)

I drive a Lexus IS 200. However, I would recommend that you get a hatchback rather than a saloon, because although my boot is big, I feel a hatchback boot is better because you have height aswell. Whatever you go for make sure you have 4 doors!

L xx

We have a 2001 Citoen Xsara Picasso after upgrading from a Nissan Micra.
Hopefully enough for the 2 boys the baby and the pram

I drive a subaru impreza wagon (the estate one)...pretty practical..well as practical as i can manage. (and the only estate i've ever been able to powerslide 8) )

and in the summer months i drive my classic cooper s mini (a real mini), complete will roll cage, buckets/harnesses and 100bhp tuned engine...its my first child :D Cant fit a rear facing kiddy seat so spud will have to wait until next year.

My advice would be to get a second hand focus, cant go wrong, parts are cheap and they are relatively reliable too

I cannot fault my nissan micra... and loads of people I have spoken to have said that their nissans have been good little runners. Sadly my car has one down side... Its too small. Its a 5 door but its still tiny and has no boot space. If I was to get another car... it would be a nissan note its apparently got loads of space and its a great family car.

My mum has a nissan note and it's great, it even has a wire in it so you can plug your ipod/mp3 in, and the boot is pretty big too. We're looking to get a bigger car too but the OH like VWs so we're probably gonna go for a Passat as they're nice and big enough for me as I expand and for all of tadpole's stuff when he/she arrives! :D

I've just swapped my Mini for a Ford Focus. It turned out to be really good value for money compared to others in it's category. Good sized boot, plenty of room for my pushchair (Silvercross 3D) and shopping, 2 car seats and very economical to run.

We have Seat Ibiza 3dr, but hope to be getting a Scoda fabia 5dr from the MIL next year. :)

Our seat is not to bad though im always driving my best friend and her daughter (my god daughter) around as she can't drive and its big enough for pram etc

x

we have a Toyota Starlet, not the ideal car for bubs as its 3 doors. the car seat doesn't fit too well either, think we're going to have to try it at the front or get a new one!

I have a beetle and i am really struggling at the minute, i have a lovely pram but in order to take it in the car i have to put the carrycot on the back seat - it takes up the whole back seat, then i have to put the chassis in the boot but take the wheels off first!

So then i bought a second pushchair to use when i am nipping into town and even that wont fit in the boot! you will find that most things are too long to fit it i am afraid.

Mine is a 5 door blue 2006 skoda fabia estate classic.

I love it, it's so easy to drive, has a massive boot (you can fit a tandem pram, and a single pram, AND a bit of shopping in all at the same time!), and despite being largish it's really nippy, and very economical and in cheapest insurance bracket.

I am clueless about prices because I have never bought a car in the UK, but I have driven three types of car. If you can find a well priced Nissan or Toyota I would definitely recommend those. They are very reliable and great on mileage. Toyotas have the number one resale value in the US, so they should probably do very well here. The Nissan I drove was an Altima and I don't think they are too common here, but I am sure any would be good. There was plenty of room everywhere. The Toyota was my mother's and a Celica, not so good for families, but the cars in general are great. My other was too expensive. I was young and had a lot of money burning a whole in my pocket- an Audi. Having said that, though, it was GREAT. I really miss it. It was so roomy (I could fit my ski gear in it easily) and I felt incredibly safe.

My friend has a Honda Accord and they are nice. Spacious inside but not huge on the outside, and she says it gets good mileage, too.

I did have a fiesta when i first found out i was pregnant and there was no way that was going to work out so i sold it a brought a 52 reg mondeo 2.0 tdci and I LOVE IT i would deffo reccomend its sooooo good on fuel it is crammed with safety features and airbags and had a huge boot. 10/10 from me.

hyundai amica oooooh yeah :)

I have one of these but the si version! Its a great car I love it!

Mini Cooper S

Best car i've ever had, so much fun, great to drive and i LOVE it............however probably not the most practical car for a baby, oh well!!

Since we found out about wrigglebum we have upgraded to a Zafira as we will be a family of 6 but we had a Mondeo from when we became a family of 5 and it was plenty big enough for 3 car seats in the back, double buggy in the boot + shopping etc really good sized car. I do love the Zafira though and the kids like sitting in the boot :rotfl:

I have a Renault Megane it's fine space wise for fitting a pram in the boot. OH has a Mini Cooper S and it is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike  I can fit the changing bag in the boot but that is about it
