I am so frightened.....I want to enjoy the whole experience as I have had a fab pregnancy, but I am just so terrified that I cant get excited at the mo....

What if I cant do it? What if I poo myself? What if I make a show of myself.......

i was bricking it!!!!

but i was told 15 mins before my section so it was all a bit to quick for me! lol

hated all of it excpet for when i met my lil man!!

am glad i had the caesarean tho!

Zoe when I was at your stage I was bricking it to be honest! Then as I got close to my due date I just wanted my son out! All my fears went and I just wanted to get on with it. I had a c section after a failed induction so experienced labour and a section and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat!

i was the opposit i wasnt one bit scared with Dior as i didnt no what to expect. with Harley i wasnt bothered as i knew i would have the epidural but now after giving birth with out pain relief i dont think ild ever give birth again. sorry dont mean to scare you lol but you dont have any thing to worry about if you can have an epidural i remember telling kris i was inlove with the epidural man :rotfl:

i gave birth without pain relief and if i could i would do it again i really miss the pregnancy thing and also going thro labour etc

I looking forward to it and i'm really hoping for a positive experience this time, plus i hate being pregnant. I know all the things that worry you as a first time mum like getting your bits out and stuff, that when your actually in labour you couldn't give a toss.

Haha Dionne

I'm bricking it for the same reasons Zoe, I keep telling OH that i cant do it & my biggest fear is pooing  (been told i wont care though)

Sorry i'm not much help hun but just want you to know that i understand just how you feel

i never had any pain relief for my 3 kids,at the end of the day, every pregnancy and labour is different no two are the same, all the horror stories people give you are just that, they are THEIR OWN experiences, not yours. best way to think of it is as waves and with each tidal movement and each wave you get closer and closer to the shore, hahahh thats what i tried to think anyway, what i mean to say is that you will have your own experiences some good and a few bad,bu take it as it comes and be accepting of what it is and things will be easier

I was terrified of the thought of giving birth for years. Strangely when I got pregnant I was much more relaxed about things. Perhaps it's because I'm older now and knew that I could deal with anything put in front of me or because I had a good pregnancy.

People are too quick to tell you their horror stories, that's what I found. Shut your ears to them.

Everybodys experience is different. My experience wasn't actually as painful as I thought it would be and I felt so proud of myself afterwards. Nobody told me how proud and amazing the experience is.

Try not to let it worry you. Enjoy what's left of your pregnancy.

You will amaze yourself once it's your time to give birth. Us women are so strong!

 Thanks girls

I have had a good old talk to myself, and I am feeling positive (today at least)....I am blessed to be pregnant and as you have all said, its just a step nearer to holding my darling baby

I am in awe of my body, and the whole pregnancy thing, its th most amazing thing, and its incredible what the body does...

I am going to remain as positive as I can now, and just keep my mind open, taking things as it comes

After all, women give birth every day, time an time again, so it cant be THAT bad!!??? :rotfl:

im more scared now than i was with my first.
Ive worried more and more with each pregnancy TBH.

Ignorance is bliss with your first and i think there is more excitement than fright with your first.

Its not that bad really once it all gets going.

I think you are stronger than you think and cope better than you ever could imagine.

 Just 15 mins before? Were you awake through it Hev? Or did they do an emergancy c section on you?

15 Minutes....Bloooody Heck!

Wasn't scared with Damien (look back at my posts, I used to get really excited!) and I'm not scared this time either. Yes it hurts, but your body was made to do this. Beleive in your body's ability and it will be fine :D

i'm getting a little anxious as I only have a week left...I'm more scared about my house not being as tidy as I want it, when I come home, so I asked OH if he would come home after the birth to tidy things up for me...or i'm more anxious about my labour bag not being packed properly or forgetting something

I really really don't want to tear though, or have to be cut :(

I'm not scared but I am a little anxious about it, I was more scared about the idea of having to go into hospital more than anything but as soon as I looked into homebirthing I am a lot calmer about it and I just know im going to be ok :D We are made to have babies and if my mum can do it without pain relief so can I. ( but I will have gas and air on standby  )

I wasn't scared as I didn't know what to expect. This time around I have an idea but I'm still not scared (though it's probably early days for that yet!!).

There are things I'll do differently this time, but not only is everyone different, but every labour is different so my advice is don't worry - on the day you'll know what to do as your body will tell you, and just go with the flow.

PS - even if you poo or make a 'show' of yourself you will not care at the time, nor will you care afterwards as you'll have your baby by then and you very quickly forget. Believe me - the midwives have seen it ALL before (and a lot more) so they will not be judging you.

If you tear you won't know anything about it at the time, and if you're cut you'll have an anaesthetic before so won't feel it, and of course you'll have an anaesthetic if you have stitches - don't let that worry you either.

I was so scared it was making me ill so I had a section and that was horrid! I am sure if you tell them you are scared and you decided to keep an open mind about pain relief you will be fine
