Hey ladies,

Just wondering how long you all took to lose pregnancy weight and get back in your pre pregnancy clothes. I put on 2 stone and 4 weeks Monday post partum have lost 1 stone. Am nowhere near fitting back in clothes and can't exercise yet due to section (although can walk) doesn't help I'm eating crap ha ha but I seriously run out of time to cook and sort food etc

A lot of ladies seem to lose weight quickly so just wondered what the norm was - I feel like a fatty :( x

I put on 3.5 stone. I lost a stone almost straight away, within a week or so (8lb 4 baby for a start!). It took me a year to lose the other 2.5 stone. But I'm now pre pregnancy weight, body fat % and pretty much my pre pregnancy fitness.

I don't do diets, just eat healthily and eat what I need, and run.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself. I've heard the saying "9 months to put it on, 9 months to take it off" and that feels about right. A stone isn't much to lose.

i gained 4st 3lbs!
Lost 2st within 2 weeks.. and its taken me 5months to lost another 1st 3lbs (not very good at sticking to healthy eating)
ive got 12lbs to go till pre preg weight xx

I gained 25lbs, lost 10lbs after baby and stuff, and now still have 10lbs to lose 12 weeks pp :(! I am on steroids tho so it makes weight loss extremely difficult xxx

Laura, I gained 14kg (about 30lbs), and bit the bullet at the weekend, and got on the scales. I need to lose 7kg to get back to pre-pregnancy weight (so just under a stone too!). I'm not going to even try until after xmas though, then hubby and I are going for it.

Thanks ladies - seems like it's not always quick to shift weight. I did slimming world before and will try and follow it at home.

Like you fliss am enjoying Xmas and will start in jan. Am hoping can start some gentle exercise after my 6 week check too as I'm missing it. Anyone know post section how long til going back to gym etc?

I found that before baby hit 3 months, not much weight would shift. I still have 3-4 kgs left to pre preg weight but havent put any effort in it

I gained about 2st 11lb with my first and found that I lost about half in the first 4 months and the rest by about 10months. From what I've gathered from friends etc. it can take a while to lose pregnancy weight. However, when you think that it took 9 months to gain it it doesn't seem unreasonable that it will take at least as much time to shift :)

I don't think the celebrations I'm sat eating help ;)

I'm munching hobnobs here. We'll have to join the yummy mummies thread after Christmas! !

I was really lucky and only put 11lb on (weighed day before I had her) and she was 6lb 7 of that. I lost the last few pounds in the first month but I know I am extremely lucky and I couldn't eat much while pg due to Lucie pushing on my tummy and making me feel constantly full.

I fully expected to be in my baggy clothes for at least 6 months tho.

Has anyone here breast fed? Has that helped with weight loss read somewhere that it helps.

I put on 2st, but most of it was baby/fluid etc. and now am only 5lb heavier than I was. I don't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes yet (5 weeks postpartum) - I'm a size bigger - but have no intention of doing anything about it until after Christmas!!! Also my OH keeps buying Bourbon biscuits, which I can't resist. I've been eating my way through family size packs!

Last time I put on a lot more weight and it took a few months to get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes. I wasn't in any great rush though.

I put on 30lbs. I'm 14 weeks pp and back to my pre preg weight but my shape is totally different now. I'm slowing coming to peace with it but I miss my old body most days!
