so I put on alot of weight when pregnant with my first which was had to shift but i eventually did it (3stone 7lb ) now I'm 22 weeks with my second i see the numbers on the scales creeping up and I'm freaking out.

I just want opinions on how to control weight gain. and what your end pregnancy was and after birth weight was.

I don't want to have to worry about this in winter as I'm scared it will mentally torture me.

any advice welcome.
 
How much did you gain already?
I'm 13 weeks and have gained 2,4kg. I do think it's bit much but I just got back from holiday and didn't watch what I ate. I try to snack on cucumbers, carrots and fruit when I can at home. If I don't have anything healthy lying around, I'll start eating crisps, biscuits and such for sure.

I think that if you have lots of fruit amd veggies around, you'll automatically start snacking more on those than unhealthy ones.

With my first pregnancy I gained 12kg but I worked out a lot, so I was mostly stable until about 6 months, where I stopped and started losing muscle and gaining fat.

im 22 weeks and u think I've gained nearly 2 stone which is disgusting and i am definitely going to have to control it from now on going to start walking more and deffo have a healthier diet. I think it's a when I feel like eating i want to eat something nice but it's too much now xx
 
I gained 10kg in the first trimester but then only 5kg the rest of the pregnancy and 4 weeks on I have lost all but about 4kg. I found I had to eat so much toast and crisps to deal with morning sickness up to 16 weeks that I did all my weight gain then and then when I could go back to eating vegetables the gain slowed down. How have you been feeling? Try not to beat yourself up about it, just eat as healthily as you can when you can. The other thing is that some people gain a lot of water weight, I know I did which means you are heavier in pregnancy but lose more after the birth. My feet swelled so badly they didn't fit in any shoes for a week or so after birth so if you're the same then it might just be water.

Walking certainly helps though. I was doing 10,000 steps up to the day before I gave birth and I'm sure it helped me feel strong for the birth and to recover well after.
 
I'm in a similar position knowing my weight gain is crazy! Before I got pregnant I lost nearly 100lb and went from a BMI of over 40 to 28. Along comes surprise baby and diet went out the window. I have a problem with carbs. They make me gain like crazy along with PCOS.

I'm getting right back on to WW as soon as I feel up to it when baby is born. I feel disgusted with myself for gaining but it is what it is and part of pregnancy. I planned for a max 40lb gain just because of my carb and pcos issue. I just have to be determined to get back in control once my little guy is here and will hopefully get to what my planned goal weight was.
 
I gained probably 5kg in trimester one and then another 5kg through the rest. Like Abi I was so sick all I could eat was garbage early on. I ate normally after that with a few extra snacks... Just remember you’re not actually eating for two, you don’t need any extra food in tri 1 and only need 100 calories (1 banana) a day in trimester 2-3. Try to eat what you normally would if not pregnant.

Pre preg I was 53kg. When I gave birth I was 63kg. At 6 weeks pp I was 58kg. No idea what I am now but I imagine 56-57kg.
 
I've gained 1 stone 10 pounds so far at 33 weeks. Most of this I put on quite early, and it's just gone up steadily over the last few weeks. I don't eat any more than I usually would, if anything, I am probably eating less now. As long as you are eating sensibly I wouldn't stress yourself out about it. x
 
aw thank you for all the comments .. I think because i was so sick at the start that now i can eat i just eat everything I fancy.

I started today to eat healthy and cut out the stuff I was eating for the sake of it. I struggle with my weight normally and was at a happy weight before I got pregnant just don't want to pile it all on again and not notice.

Abi i think I do out on water weight as I can see it fluctuating In my face some days I have an extra chin LOL and others I'm fine
