Hi Guys,
Well here I am we have our heart set on one of THOSE strange names that people are going to try and convince us not to use. It is a name we were playing with when I was pregnant with our son 10 years ago but we couldn't do it. It also came up before we found out our daughter was a girl at our 20 week scan 6 years ago. Low and behold it has come up again and we BOTH love it. We've basically had 10 years to get use to it but people are going to FREAK. My Hubby ask if we should run it past family and I said HELL NO! It's the sort of name that you just keep to your self because if you mention it before hand people will try and talk you out of it. If you say "such and such was born at blah blah blah mum and bub doing fine" text message people will say something behind your back at first but then get use to it, iykwim.
It is actually the last name of my husband's Australian rules football heroes as he was growing up. And I like to have formal names to put on paper but friends and family use short versions. I know not every one's cup of tea but we like that.
So here it goes,
Daicos Ian Samuel
(Day-kos)
For short we'd call him Daics (Dakes). His short name would probably be the name we'd use for the announcement it's more how do we say less Shocking.
Last night we checked the White pages on the internet and there is a total of 13 families in Australia with as a last name in there so I think he would not get too much flack about it as he get's older.
I just wish we loved another name as much but it's a sticker and we can't get past it.
