Hi,

I'm in my 6th month of TTC and have a holiday booked at Center Parcs later this month. When I go, I'll be about 7 - 10 dpo. My question is, will I be ok going on the water slides / rides? Going with family who don't know we're ttc and don't want to make them suspicious as I always go on the rides!

Thanks :)

Hi,

It will be safe for you to go on the rides whilst TTC, but I read that water can kill sperm so if you want spermies to hang around for a few days during your fertile period, unfortunately if I were you I would stay away from the water rides :-(.

You'll be fine... I never stopped doing anything whilst TTC and I always had baths during ovulation/LP too so I really don't think the water will make a difference!

Good luck xx

Just wondered what about rides as in alton towers while ttc is it best to stay off :)

Thanks for the replies, I feel a lot better about going on them now :)

Hiya i was ttc whilst in centre parcs last month too! I read swimming was ok but not having sex in the pool (like that was going to happen!) as it would wash sperm away. Swimming is encouraged by some clinicians as exercise supposed to be helpful when ttc. Even hot tubs are ok unless you are further along in pregnancy i think youll be fine, even on slides. We went to whinefell and had a great time. Where are you going? Have a fab time and enjoy yourself x

Yeah don't think we'll be having sex in the pool
We're going to Woburn for a weekend, can't wait :)

I went on some really fast waltzers at the seaside around the time of my iui with my daughter and all was fine :)
I think the water slides will be fine :) xx

I went skiing and found out I was pregnant at 14dpo at the end of my holiday - I wouldn't worry, and carry on as normal.
Enjoy your holiday! Xx

I went crazy on a trampoline and then had a pain in right ovary area and miscarried, I have always thought it was the cause but guess I'll never know. x

I've thought about these things a few times. Initially I was cautious but now it's become a longer journey than we hoped, I've now decided that it could be a long time before we finally get our BFP so I'm not going to stop doing things I enjoy. It's time enough to stop doing things once I'm actually pregnant, I don't want to avoid them for months beforehand as well!! When you think about how many people fall pregnant by accident, they're probably doing plenty of things they shouldn't until they find out!!

Hi, just checking in as I used to be a regular on this forum! When I found out I was expecting my second we were in Florida and i went swimming daily, on all the water slides and big rides at Disney and Universal- before then realising I was pregnant! Happy healthy baby was the result! I really wouldn't do anything different, I think you can stress yourself out worrying about what you can/can't do and that is worse than doing all those things! Both times I conceived was when I wasn't really thinking about it too much (and I was a LTTC with my first baby).

I think you're exactly right MoominGirl! I stopped doing so much when TTC my first and just ended up bitter and disappointed every month! The month I conceived my first we had a lot of parties and I thought, screw it I'm going to drink and enjoy myself like I normally would as nothing happening and had not let myself go for so long! Sure enough that was when my BFP came!:dance:
