want to loose weight some really cool links!!

i think 3fatchicks has a problem, loads of popups went mad on the screen!!
 
I've been a member of 3fatchicks for about a month now. It's quite a good community - people are very encouraging.
 
I lost 4 stone last year, attended slimming world about 3 times so did the rest myself.

Losing weight is like getting a wheel turning, you push and push and it budges just a little at first, then a little more and then it starts to freewheel on its own, you then just give it a nudge here and there to keep it moving.

For the first month to get the wheel turning cut out completely and I mean completely your 3 most common carbs such as...

Bread
Alcohol
Potato

(*These were my 3, yours may be pasta etc)


That will get the wheel moving. Make minor changes like cutting sugar out of coffee, takes 4 days to get used to it then you'll dislike the taste of sugar in drinks afterwards. Switch to skimmed milk, again this takes about 4 days to get used to.

Dont deprive yourself, think everything in moderation. If you like chocolate have it (I didnt like it anyway) but buy small individual bars of cakes and choc instead of large packets where you have to break a piece off then use willpower not to go back to an open packet or choc bar.

Drink plenty of water, I hate water so had a lo cal squash. I didnt have the 8 glasses a day either just drink more than you usually would.

Its just the first month that is hard not because of cravings but because you have to be more creative with meals and think ahead so you cant just grab a buttie at work.
The slimming world philosophy helped I think, dont mix carbs with proteins, have lots of one and very little of the other in a meal.

Set yourself goals, think I WILL weigh whatever by friday and think positive. You will retrain your mind very very quickly, I didnt crave junk food at all, I actually felt diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirty if I had a chinese because I was so determined to reach my goal. Set the goal, dont wait each week to see what you may or may not have lost, set your mind and focus on it - I WILL WEIGH whatever by friday. I'm convinced that was a major part in it, especially if you have a stubborn streak like me :lol:
