Hey.

Just what th title says really. Whts ppl views on paintin and decorating in pregnancy just coz some people say its fine too and others say its dangerous.

Thanks in advance ladies.

Amy xx

I think as long as its well ventilated it should be fine, perhaps have someone help you and you'll get it done quicker and if it starts to smell too much go outside for fresh air. Crown do a range of Breathe Easy paints which hardly smell at all, we used it for our LOs nursery xx

I was happy doing the bulk of it - apart from going up ladders as I'm far too unbalanced at the best of times :P Let OH do the gloss work though as that is mega fumey - basically if the VOX on the paint tin is low I was happy to do it, but anything higher and I opted out :)

IMO as long as its well ventilated then Im happy to do it. I have one of those masks that I wear and I just fling open all the windows and leave the room every so often to get some fresh air.

With my first baby, I painted the bedroom and the bathroom at 8 months pregnant even balancing on the bath while my ex OH sat on his arse on the sofa!! I just made sure it was well ventilated and took quite a few breaks lol x

Cool, Thanks for all your replys ladies :).

xx

I did quite a bit of the water based paints but I made a special effort to avoid the oil based paints as they are really fumey - had quite a good look at advice online and they it seems to suggest that avoiding the oil based paints is a good idea! x

Asked my mw about this when 1st got PG as knew we'd have plenty to do in the house.............she said it was fine.........fumes may make u feel a bit sicky but should be ok if u keep room ventilated, take breaks etc. xx
