Under the microscope?

I don't remember how it started but yesterday something prompted me to get out my old microscope and one thing led to another and we collected an uh "sample" to check under it.

Turns out my husband has loads of little swimmers!

He actually looked kind of emotional looking at them but now I feel a little bit worried. I know he's got the stuff, what about me?!

Anyway, has anyone else done this?

I dont know how awful this sounds but i made my fella take a fertility test yesterday
its all good though because it came out positive
just worried about mine now though..............
ill keep my fingers crossed!

I want OH to take a fertility test but I don't know how he will react to taking one. He has mentioned it before in the past but I think we would both be devasted if it comes back that there is something wrong.

I think for now we are better off just continuing with TTC and if we dont get a result in the next few months we will go for tests

Would be interesting to see OH's little spermies though lol

I would like to see them swimming away too! What strength Microscope did you use?!

Also isn't it alot to do with them being Normal - As in not the ones with broken tails or double heads, I was watching a programme about it the other day,

Yes it's not just about the sperm count, things like motility (how well they can swim) and mophology (whether they are normal) are taken into account as well as the general quality of them.

It was just a regular kids microscope. I couldn't see them at 100x but we could at 400x. I couldn't really focus on them at 950x but I did see them briefly.

I couldn't really see what they were doing, but they were all wriggling away pretty well. It's still early days so it's not something we're going to worry about. He's thrilled that he's got plenty.

How interesting. I dont have a microscope, but think hubby would be freaked out if I wanted to look at his sperm, lol.

I think it's genius! My husband might even think it a fun idea! As you know he is refusing to go to a doctor to get tested as too embarrased. This might show up the need to take action or it might look v active and be reassuring to his fear. How much can you actually see? Can you see heads and tails etc?

I know that the amount is very important, but you can get kits to test that too right?

Now ....... who do i know who might have a microscope and what on earth excuse can i give for borrowing it!!??!!
