who has a two year age gap and what was it like? pros and cons?

I think that's the gap I will hopefully have, so any advice would be appreciated x

Dior is nearly 2 now. and i think its a nice age. 2 is the age i have found jelousy has came though Dior wants me to herself and gets upset if i hold her broother or my brother. so best thing to do is make sure you pay her loads of attention

eg when the new baby is first born and eva comes to see baby in hospital for the first time. have a little present from the new baby in the new babys cot and tell eva its from her new brother/sister to her. get on the right side of Eva from day one

i know this has got nothing to do with this thread but Dionne can i just say how beautiful your two children are?!?!

this is about the gap i want as its the gap between my sisters two girls.

its worked fab for them. jess was really involved with everything, my sis talked to her all about the pregnancy and she went to scans and appts etc. and they always called the baby by her name (sophie) before she was born, which i think really helped jess associate the bump with the baby she ended up with!

they are so close now too - and i have never sen jess act even a little bit jealous of sophie - in fact when they are shopping rather than say she wants this or that she likes to choose things for sophie, esp clothes!

oh well we may end up ttc about the same sort of time then!!

I wanted a 2 year gap but the baby dancing wasn't working and we ended up with a 3 year gap but that was great! Sam has been an absolute angel with Isabelle and *touch wood* has had no jealousy at all and loves making her smile and laugh etc.

I don't really know what kind of stage a 2year old will be at. some babies can hold a conversation by then can't they? x

Oh yes some can talk pretty well.

Amie's (alschafr) daughter Ella was talking a lot when she was 2.

I think Lydia will be able to hold conversations by the time she will be 2.
There will be a 22 month age gap between her and the next one - so I'll keep you posted about how it's going when s/he arrives :)

Hi

There is 2 years and 3 weeks between my two and it has been brilliant. Alice is old enough to help out which she loves as she feels so grown up and she hasnt been jealous at all. She has been funny with me but not Olivia which is good. She keeps kissing and cuddling her.

I made sure Alice was involved during the pregnancy. She came to all appointments and scan and visited me loads when I was in hospital. I also got a doppler for at home and she used to love finding the baby. We also named her before she was born and watched loads of baby programs on sky.

I think it is a brilliant age gap and would do the same again if I were to have anymore.

yes ella does talk alot, she knows my her best friend is going to be having a brother or sister and asks keiras mum tofeel her tummy, its so cute

Maybe we should have another one

There is 2 years and 2 months between my first two and it's a great age gap to have. When Meagan was born Lauren was potty trained and was able to talk a bit and was also at playschool 2 mornings a week which gave me time with megan, now they are older they are into the same things and are really good friends :D xx

i'm pleased to read that alot of you have said this is a good age gap as this will be the age gap i have this time and was a little worried ry might get a bit jealous or rough with the baby hopefuly not :)

That's the sort of age group I want inbetween my 1st two, but looking like it will be more like 2 1/2 - 3 years. I don't think there is a perfect age gap is there? My hubby has 2 years between him and his brother and they hate each other, but it as not put me off! I think it is whats right for you. What you can handle. But hey we like a challange. When your partner is off work ill next, if you can cope with him and the baby then your ready!
