I have 23 months between my two boys , good age gap, they still fight , but have grown up with a playmate, they share a room as close in age and same gender etc.
I have 13 months between 2nd and third child (boy/girl) and they seem to think they are twins or something!! The competition issue between them is far greater, and they don't play together at all well, but do play very well ,if older child not about , away etc - so only each other to play with , and works well. Yes as Toon said, you need to be organised and it's hard work, but was lovely having them together. Easier than the bigger age gap as more times I will have the same activity run at the same time, eg Beavers, cubs, scouts, rather than seperate ones. eg younger two both in the same groups for at least a year before moving up, where with two years gap , I'm always doing different pickups etc!!
Having said that, having Devon 9 years age gap, prefering that one!!!! (But he will be practically and only child later on so not good, but for me it's a pleasure compared.
I had babies around ice hockey season for my sports, and hence whooped them out together , hindsight is a wonderful thing... But there never is a perfect or right way, so either will be lovely for you
Oh just thought, I'm am having issues now with money and my kids, because they are all getting to the same stage together, eg activities, cub/scout camps, send of junior school holidays! eg paid £250 for my eldest to go to Lakeside two years ago, and now here we are again less than two years on had to pay it again and next year have to pay it again, (well this sept onwards in £55 installments!!) for my daughter next year, then there is the £74 quid swimming lessons each term, each kid! there is always something to pay at school etc.. Next to worry about is driving lessons!! Uni ? Weddings? etc
