*** Twins thread ***

Poor you baking twins. I saw your thread about amniotic fluid.
What great news about them oth being head down! You give me hope lol, mine are both breech at the moment, but I know they'll turn :) they WILL turn

I hope these last couple of weeks are kind to you and things are not too stressful for you.
Your babies sound like they are doing just fine, you've got this far, I'm sure everything will be tickety boo :)

From what I understand about amniotic fluid, the earlier it is detected in a pregnancy, the more impact it can have on a baby's growth.
You are way along bakingtwins, which is a huge positive for your babies, so I wouldn't think it is going to make too much difference to their growth now but keeping an eye on them is still a good idea, for your peace of mind :)

Did you feel your little boy turn? I bet it's a relief he's not transverse though :)

I had my scan today, I asked about them checking my cervix lengh and they refused, so I wasent very happy as everything I've read about says that with a twin pregnancy that they should check,
The other thing is where as at my last scan a few weeks ago they were both engaged the boy is now breech :(
And first off they said that his water level was low and then they said it wasent low it was just that the girl had more water than normal, but when I asked about this they didn't really give me much information.
Don't know if I should be worried or not x

Don't worry scatty :) if they are growing well I wouldn't worry.
I don't think they tend to measure cervix length in this country as the evidence to support the claim it may lead to prem labour is weak. That's why the royal college of obs and gynaecologists don't do it. They will have looked at all he evidence along with NICE. Thats prob why they wouldn't do it at your scan today.

Little monkey turning breech! Did you suspect it at all?

Trouble with the Internet is a lot of info is related to America and maternity services are totally different.

Yeah the women actually looked shocked that I had asked her and she seemed quite rude, I need to stay away from
Google as that what puts thjngs in my head in first place lol,
But I'm a little worried about this amniotic fluid thing as the boys is 5.2cm deepest pool and hers is 10.4 cm deepest pool and they haven't been very clear about what that means, x

Bakingtwins has had amniotic fluid thing recently. I'm sure she can tell you more but 5.2 sounds fine. I himk she said below 4 or 4.5 they start to worry.

But they are in there, happy, growing well! That's a great thing scattyash :)
It is not good though that they can't answer your questions! I feel for you x

Hi ladies, I am finallymback in Madrid, had a horrible journey home though, 5 hours in the car is so uncomfortable. I have been getting really bad coxyx (spelling?) pain, like i have landed n my butt reallly hard, anyone else have this? Then at one toilet stop, i couldnt find the ladies loo, walked around the petrol station, didnt notice a hole, and fell over. Thankfully my knees and hands took the impact, but i was a bit shaken up about it. Stupid cow for not looking down :(

Anyway, glad everyones babes are ok, sorry to hear about your ammniotic fluid worries though. I dont now much about it so cant offer any wisdom. All i can say is that i thought it could replenish itself, so levels may be better the next time they check? Everything is a comstant worry eh girls? I bet it doesnt get any easier after birth either, lol!
Be interesting to see what position out babies end up in towards the end, and if any of us notice them turn? I havent noticed anything with mine, so would be suprised if they are head down yet.
Sorry they wouldnt check your cervix scatty, like bm says it obviously isnt a uk thing. I am sure they wuld if it was really an accurate marker.

Blimey nikki! I hope yr all ok. It must have been scary falling.

Scattyash... I think a lot of women up their water intake and that can make a big difference :)

Got my antenatal class tmrw. Hope I'm not sat down for 2 hrs! Ouch! Lol

Just been catching up! Hope all the amnio issues get sorted out, I don't know much about it I'm afraid (or anything for that matter) but wanted to send hugs! Nikki the fall must have scared you, plus the drive sounds a nightmare! I'm dreading our drive to holiday in may plus we are going to take h to peppa pig land so that's another big drive! Lol!
This may sound thick but if both of your babies aren't pointing in the right direction then do you just have a c section?
Xxx

It's not that they don't have enough , it's that one has too much and no one at the hospital would explain clearly what that means really to me, so I'm left with google as midwife isent answering x

Hiya mrs n.
with regards to birth, it is up to you how you give birth. They may advise a section but that doesn't mean you have to have it.
My prob with a section is not the operation itself although it carries its own risks but the recovery after, having twins I can imagine its not easy at all after having a section.

I've just read that an amniotic fluid index of between 10-25cm in third trimester is normal. Above 25 they start to worry.
It is more common in multiple pregnancies. But still not common and it says it usually resolves on its own. Read this on baby centre.co.uk
Is that what you've read scatty?

Thanks Hun, I got advised against a c sec before I found out it was twins due to previous complications following Harrison's birth. I also really don't want one from the healing pony of view, even though I was ill after having h I was still able to pick him up etc! I would rather have them naturally but guess it is gong to be out of my hands!

No I haven't read that thing I read somethjng briefly that said it was called Polyhydramnios or something but I was in the car at the time and my Internet wasent great and I stopped reading as didn't wanna freak myself out,
The hospital didn't seem bothered but they didn't really answer any questions about it either and they came across like they didn't wanna panic me,
It's just 3 weeks ago when I was admitted and I had a scan they were both normal Simon wondering what could have changed in 3 weeks and will it continue to increase,
All I want is thjngs to run smoothly :(
I had an idea the boy was now breech as been feeling a lot more movement low down and thought that felt to sharp to be a head,
I think I'm gonna just deal with the fact I have a high chance of a c section, infact at my next consultant appointment if he still breech and they think I have a high chance I may just elect a c section as was told if I wanted one I could just have one,
That was apprantly if its planned its more carmer and I have time to deal with it, rather than go into labour and freak out when they tell me I have to have one,

I just want the next 8-9 weeks to fly by and the babies be here safely,
I hate the thought of them being early and possible poorly and have to be in special care, I wish I knew and could control what is gonna happen :( xx

Scatty, I am sure your babies will stay put
Try and remember the positive thinking you said in a previous post x

Your ospital are not exactly forthcoming with information and reassurance are they scatty? In my case i dont know much other than what i read on the internet due to the language barrier, lol. I have told the OH that next week i really wantnto know what the policy on induction is at the hospital, and what chance there is of a section, because i havent been told a single thing. They treat me pretty much like a normal pregnancy, so i am just going with the flow so far.
Antenatal class for me tonight too, perhaps i will learn more there with regards to delivery :)

Hope everyone is well, all good here, housework day today, boooooooo!

I'm looking forward to my antenatal not sure OH is lol.
We've got to tape the man united/ Real Madrid game too :lol
Is your OH into football nikki?

Lol, not in the slightest! He is a fighting man, martial arts obsessed, i actually met him through that, we were both training Kuk Sool won for a while. He is more into brazilian ju jitsu nowadays, likes the dodgy backstreet MMA gyms where half the students are ex cons or something, lol. Weirdo, but at least i know he can protect me if needed, he has multiple black belts in all sorts. Your OH very sporty?
Will be a lot of english visitors in the city today :) I wont be one of them, we live right out on the outskirts thankfully ;)
