Twins chat 2016/17!

Yes maybe they will be ok! I can sleep through anything, slept through the 1987 hurricane! DH and I are quite relaxed and people always sleep well at our house! We might be a good influence. Maybe we'll do it just before they need their own room. Its a shame not to be doing up a nursery though! I heard lots of people stop changing nappies in the bedroom as it can get too smelly!!

It's not bad if you get good thick nappy sacks and remove them every morning :), that's what we do and it doesn't smell, even my dogs don't sniff them out x

I'm now 32.5 weeks, can't believe how quick this pregnancy seems to be going! I had a growth scan on Monday and they already guesstimate them as being around 4.5lb each! I get a c-section date at my 36 week scan, can't wait to find it out, although starting to worry about pre-term labour now!

Here's a photo from this morning.

Oh that's a lovely bump picture Charlie. And so big healthy babies. Fantastic news. :)

I forgot to ask at my 20 week scan how big they were. Next scan isn't until 3rd November, and that's the next time I see the consultant too. Feeling a bit lost. Seeing the midwife in between, but she's just useless.

It should be written in your notes, where I work we print a report off after scan which has graphs on, on the front page near the top it will have a weight written and there is a conversion chart in your green notes x

Love your bump and they are fab sizes :) what positions are they in? Don't worry about pre term labour, enjoy your pregnancy and take each day as it comes :) as it will soon be over x

My boys are 3 1/2 weeks now growing and feeding and pooping amazingly lol, Robert the one who lost a lot of weight is now piling it on :) x

Twin 1 is head down and twin 2 is head up. I want a c-section as I had a horrific failed induction with my daughter 3 years ago ending in an emergency section. Have refused to be induced again.

Fair enough, they may still have a turn around yet anyway but if your having a section it shouldn't make much difference, my twin 1 was footling breech so I had no panic of early labour as it just wasn't going to happen x

Had our 24 week scan today! Both babies looking good, one weighing 1.7lb & the other 1.8lb! Twin 1 umbilical artery PI was 0.93 so the lower of the range they print, I know she struggled getting the reading because of positioning but no one was concerned about anything & everything else was spot on & it looks as though twin 1 placenta has moved away from the cervix :) I never realised how much of a big day "V" day is until becoming pregnant, such a big milestone ! X

I thought I'd felt twin 1 turn the other day and I think I was right as they were up the opposite way to when we had the 20 week scan lol

That's good news! Similar weights to mine!

I think I've expanded over the weekend! Loads of people congratulated me yesterday and I went for a walk in town at lunchtime today and got lots of looks and smiles!

Has anyone else found that when you say it's twins people ask if it runs in the family? The other ladies at the twins workshop said people ask if they were ivf! Bit cheeky!

Thanks hon :) oh excellent both on track :)

Ah lovely how fab isn't it a nice feeling ? I love showing mine off do you?

I have that all the time especially as my sister has the twins, if it's someone I don't know I just nod but I am open with people I know about our journeys as I'm super proud of it. People are really forward aren't they id never dream of asking as it's quite a personal question X

Being asked if they are naturally conceived is the cheesiest/ most rude question I got asked and it was the most common, now people just swarm around me in public to have a look at the baby twins x

Aw that's something to look forward to!
A lady I've known for a while but not very well asked me yesterday if twins run in the family so I told her we had fertility treatment. She was lovely and said after all the injections it must be nice to get to this stage, she used to be a nurse. I didn't tell her it was the 5th go and just smiled and agreed!

People don't need to know your private life :) it's your personal story that makes your babies extra special to you, especially in your case as it has been a long journey to get to where you are, you don't need people putting a downer on your special time. I really object to people's rudeness lol, another question I hate is being asked how I feed them.
I went shopping today with my mum, my brother and all 3 off my boys :), my mum and brother were shocked at how many people stop you you or come over, I was chatting to a lady who had twins with her and turned round to about 8 people (no joke) peering over my shoulder into the pram. This is then followed by a series of questions which everyone asks ...
1- are they identical?
2- how old are they?
3- what are their names?
4- what were their weights? Oh really? They are great weights for twins!
5- do they behave?
6- do they sleep?
7- how do you feed them?
8- are they naturally conceived?
9- are you tired?
10- a favourite of the day - where is there dad? ... He is at work!!!
11- are you finding it easy?
12- are they your first?

A few random questions were in their too lol, in the end it's just easier to smile and nod x

"Where is their Dad"? How rude!!!! As if he should be with you constantly or maybe they think you are a single mum!

Yep, I'm sure people have no brain to mouth filters sometimes x

We ordered our pram today! Chose the Mountain Buggy duet! Not ordered the carrycots for it yet as we need to decide whether to get the normal ones or the cocoon ones that go on top of the seats! Hoping to get them 2nd hand as they don't use them for long! Also need to decide whether to get the compatible car seats too! Very exciting!

Ooh that is very exciting :) if you don't already have bouncers I have a fisher price one ... I will attach a pic ... getting another to match (as the other was my other sons) they are perfect for simultaneous feeding if bottle feeding as they have fab support for baby and puts them in a good position x
