That sounds lovely Hun!! Some proper r&r!! I can’t wait for Christmas - it’s my birthday on Christmas Day so I get super excited haha!!

Yep, think I’m about 5dpo today but I’ve just tried to completely forget about it all and I’ve tried to stay Of if here too as it just eggs me on haha!! I’m preying so much this month works but if it doesn’t then never mind lol! I have sore bbs again and I’m getting the odd niggly pain down below but who knows hey!! Xx

I wonder what it'd be like to have a birthday on Christmas Day, do you like it? I know someone who was born on New Year's Eve and hates it, she says everyone always forgets it's her birthday! lol.

I absolutely love it! It’s so Magical throughout the whole of December aim like a big kid haha!!

Unfortunately my cycle didn’t end as planned with the witch getting me but we are positive going into this next cycle which means we meet our donor again next week so fingers crossed!!

Fingers crossed this month is your month! Wouldn't a bfp be the perfect birthday / Christmas gift!!?

I'm now in France and my youngest sister is expecting a baby boy. She has her 20 weeks scan tomorrow and I'm going with her!! I'm really excited!! Although at times it's hard to know how to feel, with all this baby talk going on... I started trying before her and when she started, we were both hoping it would work for both of us around the same time, but unfortunately it didn't quite pan out that way... I'm really excited for her and looking forward to having a nephew and lots of baby cuddles in the spring, but at the same time, it's a reminder it hasn't yet worked for me, and so I'm starting to worry I might have a problem... Definitely have mixed feelings! Trying again towards the end of Jan, but toying with the idea of having a word with my GP!

Taking this month with a pinch of salt and trying to not think about anything and just see what happens! I’m due af on the 26th so trying to ignore it as much as possible as although it would be a wonderful Christmas and birthday present to find out on the 25th, it will I’m sure annoy me if she comes along too! So I’m just going to pretend nothing happened this month haha!

Ahh I hope you have a fantastic time out there!! Oh bless you, yes I’m not sure how I’d cope in that situation either tbh! But you’ll get there eventually and think how worth it it will be!

Hey Hun, how are you? Hope you’ve been having a lovely holiday?

Just thought I’d let you know I got my BFP on Boxing Day! I’m still in shock and can’t actually believe it! So today I’m officially 4 weeks! Very early days but I’m just happy that my body works!

My fingers are crossed for you in 2018 - one thing I’d say is if you’re using conceive plus, don’t! We didn’t use it this time and only dtd once too and it worked! Maybe it was just a fluke but maybe worth giving it a miss x

I bet you've never received a better birthday / Christmas present! lol

I'll follow your advice on conceive plus and try without next time. As it so happens, now would be the right time, but I only just came back from France yesterday and I think it would be inappropriate to expect anything of our donor so close to New Year celebrations! lol So the next time for us will be late Jan. I can't wait! I'm feeling rather positive and uplifted by your success, another proof that the method works!

Can I ask which day you dtd on? Was it on the day of the positive or the day after? Did you use the same method as you did previous months? I'm interested to know the details, so long as you're comfortable sharing.

I hope we can still keep in touch, it's been nice chatting to you and it's not often you come across other same sex couples TTC / pregnant / with children. Hopefully I'll join you in tri 1 soon! x

Oh and Happy New Year!! I'm sure it will be a great one!!

Ahh, well here’s to the next cycle for you - I have a feeling this will be the one! Keep me updated please!!

We dtd on the 12th and I ov’d on The 14th - another reason why I didn’t think it would happen but I did have ewcm so maybe the test was out a bit! The only difference this cycle in our method was keeping the donation pot warm until it’s used and not using conceive plus either. We still used the syringe and tube thing and kept my legs up for about an hour!

Oh yes, I can imagine you'd be very shocked! Even more so as you didn't expect it this month, and a lot of changes to come, all very exciting though! When is your due date? I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months

What's the 'tube thing' you're referring to? Could you please share a link to the kit you used? So far I've only ever used a pot and a 10 ml syringe.

Congratulations Covey, I have those tubes with syringes, ordered them over a year ago, I've never used them as I don't understand how you fill the tube or how to empty the tube completely as surely most of the sperm will just stay in the tube ?. Is there a certain way to use them ?. xx

Hehehe! So we put a tiny bit of air in the syringe before sucking up the sperm. Then attach the tube.
You’ll want to be led down with your legs and hips up in the air then slowly insert and push the sperm in. Once you’ve emptied the syringe, disconnect it leaving the tube inside (it sticks out don’t worry you won’t loose it!) and the remaining sperm will leave the tube on their own due to gravity pulling it. If you wanted to speed it up you can always slowly remove the tube or push a bit more air in.
It worked for us that way! Good luck!!

Thanks Covey, so you suck it up using the syringe then put the tube on ?. How long should the tube be ?, did you have to cut yours, mine is around 12 inches long lol. Also when I have syringed with any air in the sperm bubbles up like washing up liquid, surely that's no good ?. I might experiment with water first lol. x

Yep! My tube was about 6 inches so maybe trim it down haha! Yes it bubbles for us too but we just did it very slowly!

I believe you used to use a syringe on its own before as well, so wondered if you could share some insight lol If it's much harder, I may need a few practice runs! lol

Hey Hun! We had 2 different ones too - a soft flexible one which was my favourite and some hard ones. I found the soft one more comfortable as it moves with your shape so didn’t even feel it go in! I used the tube because it gets it that bit closer to the cervix than the syringe did.

Maybe a practice run is a good idea? We did one practice but found it quite easy! As long as you suck up the sperm with the syringe first slowly, then attach the tube and insert slowly then you should be fine! Once it’s all out the syringe then disconnect it leaving the tube in there so it all comes out! And legs up for as long as you can! X
