How long do you have to leave it after an emergency c-section before TTC again? I mean in terms of being a risk to the scar. I don't want to risk a rupture. Is 18 months OK?

I'm pretty sure they recommend at least a year.

I had quite a crap recovery with my section and I also have problems with my tummy muscles still being split so we are waiting for 2.

They recommend 18 months, but I've a friend who's a midwife, and she said that actually after two weeks the scar is as strong as it will ver fully heal to be x

I had emergency section too sunny, are you going for vbac when the time comes? X

Hayley - sorry to hear that :( I've known a few people have difficult recoveries. Hope you're ok xx

Froslass - totally going for vbac! I keep worrying they'll push me for planned c-section. My health visitor said they might deliver early on a second in order to prevent too large a baby again. Are you going for vbac?
Xx

I'm def going for vbac.

I had a GTT at 36 weeks due to excess waters, fasting bloods were 5.2, but my other bloods were fine...

But they decided to treat me as diabetic even though I clearly wasn't! I was induced before my due date and stuck to my hospital bed and felt so out of control.

Next time will be on my terms I'm so determined! X

That is awful!! Who did they think they were doing that to you?
I'm so sorry - I didn't know you went through that.
Yeah def go for vbac - you stick to your guns xxx

I had two sections hun and as you can see i didn't wait the year. I was never told anything so got pregnant after my son turned 6 months. Also i carried my second to full term nearly he didn't want to come out early at all i had my section four days before due date only because i planned it. I really wanted a natural birth they told me my risk of rupture was never that high if i went into labour myself.

20/06/2012 - Elliott born at 12:09 x

11/02/2011 - Leo born at 11:37 x

My first section was emergency. At induction at 38 weeks failed x

thanks :)

I had a section due to a large baby too. She was 9lb 14oz. I see the pros and cons to both and wouldn't say that i'm against having another section now that I know what to expect, I found it difficult not knowing what pain was normal pain and what pain was excessive if that makes sense? the experience of natural birth would be amazing though.
