thought id start a list for things that no-one ever told you with your first pregnancy and that you had to find out yourself

when you get morning sickness, its not just that but morning day and all through the night.

when you start throwing up you lose control of the bladder as well so sometimes its a case of sat on loo with bucket on your lap.

how swollen you are after a natural birth

Brushing your teeth makes you sick
Being sick is often accompanied by passing wind from the other end at the same time! Not attractive

how much you turn into a bloke, the farting burping and sh!tting puts your oh to shame and you get hairy boobs and belly(just noticed my arm hairs have gone darker too)

The joys!

I need to go and brush my teeth in a minute and am dreading it- it ending up like a scene from the exorcist last night!

HE he he, I forgot about the hairy boobs and belly... as for being sick and widdling at the same time...yeah how true, Farting both ends..very ladylike..eek..forgot about that bit too BUT what i do remember *
I was never told about piles and how terrified i would be to do my first poo after a natural birth. sitting on a rubber ring and using a hair drier after a bath to dry downstairs...... And oh yes the biggesst one that shocked me was the after pains with my second child,( continued contractions after the birth) apparently only happens to some people when they have had children already. , Cracked nipples and the baby's first poo being black.... all a bit scary but normal and doesn't last long thank goodness :cheer:

LOL - it's not just going for a poo either - going for a wee burned like hell - I had to wee in the bath holding the shower head against me for the first two days!!

And yes - the swelling - OMG I didn't think it was me!!

Also, you feel as if your uterus is falling out!!

But as you say it all disappears within days and you're left with your precious baby and it's sooooo worth it!

LBxx

Also, how much midwives in the labour ward seem to hate 'mothers to be' (or was it just mine?!!!!)

oh and the fact that they put you on a normal ward at night when in labour ifyou're too far gone to go home but not far enough for the delivery suite and they then expect you to keep quiet whilst they are nattering away at the nurses station

oh i remeber these well :rotfl:

They don't tell you afterward that you will be walking like john wayne for a week, sit down and getting up turn in to a right ordeal!

Failing to mention to me that 'you might bleed a little when you stand up' post birth!! sorry if tmi!! but i thought i was about to die!

post birth when you r sat on the loo you feel like youve pooed out your floo as the clots are dropping.eurgh feel sick now :|

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: we migt as well warn you now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

it cant be that bad though as we're doing it all again and this is my 4th :rotfl: :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: haven't laughed so much in weeks.... i forgot so much...... hope these things don't scare you.. just prepare you for what might happen...so don't freak out too much.. no turning back now guys!
