There is a programme about drinking while pregnant

ive gone completely off alcohol the smell even makes me feel sick! which is a good thing as i could quite happily drink a bottle of wine a night which obviously is too much, i agree with tiffanyjane me and OH argue when weve had a drink usually about stupid stuff (things on tv that have absolutely nothing to do with us!!!)

OH has now decided that he isnt drinking in the week and i cant see myself drinkig much when baby is born so im going to try and only drink when we go out and maybe share a bottle over the weekend with OH x x

Had one or two tiiiiiiny sips of beer as hadn't had it since I was 16 and had a massive craving.

I don't think *tasting* alcohol is going to have much of an effect.

I taste ISH! I think it's a lot better in the long run having a few tastes as a posed to actual glasses!

well new studies in paper today said 1 uniot per day is good for baby

I saw them doing the units thing on the programme... one unit is only 25ml. Pour that into the glass and its only a mouthful. Hardly worth drinking!

Depends on the percentage of the alcohol! You'd think the government would have made it less complicated to figure out of they wanted to cut drinking down!!

I've had the odd glass of red wine (only one in any one night), a glass of shandy at a BBQ and a glass of Pimms at a wedding. I did the same in my first pregnancy and so have all my friends and all of our children have been absolutely perfect.

Oh, and I had aglass of bubbly to celebrate my birthday with my friends last week.

I don't agree with pregnant ladies drinking to the point where they are actually feeling the affect of the drink ie; getting merry, as if it's affecting her then it must be affecting the baby. I think that the odd glass is perfectly fine. I personally haven't had one drink since finding out i was pregnant, before finding out i drank on quite a few occasions. I know of a girl who drank to excess, smoked and did drugs throughout her pregnancy, it's absolutely discusting, i don't know how people can be so selfish and care so little about the baby inside them - her baby did turn out to be perfectly healthy tho! On the other hand my Mum drank in moderation during being pregnant with my brother and he is absolutely fine too.
It was my birthday over the weekend and i was offered a glass of wine but i turned it down as i really didn't fancy it! If i had of fancied it i would felt fine about having a small glass. Before getting pregnant i was a serious wine lover! xxx

I've had the odd half shandy or glass of wine occassionally and even the MW has said in MODERATION ie; 1 unit, once to twice a week, it shouldn't do any harm.
