I've just found out I'm pregnant at 41. It's totally unplanned and I'm so unsure on what to do. I had a stillborn son with my first pregnancy at 27 weeks followed by a miscarriage. I then had a daughter who is nearly 19 followed by a son who is nearly 8. I had no plans for anymore as after what we went through I felt blessed to have my 2 healthy kids here.

So then 5 weeks ago my mum had a stroke and needed brain surgery to relieve pressure from a bleed alongside this. Bit of madness on my part led to us being stupid and getting carried away and now fast forward to a positive test!

Mum is still in hospital and has mobility issues but we're desperately trying to get her home but she is 73 dad is 75 there gonna need lots of help.

Husband is nearly 50 and so feels he's to old to be starting again but he will if I want to! I'm so confused if I'm being totally honest and just hoping for bit of feedback to help xx

Hi, I was in a similar boat last year, 40 and an 8 year old, settled and felt blessed enough with the 1, tried for more but only miscarriages so was quite accepting and happy with the one. No desire to go back to nappies etc life was good, found myself pregnant! it was the worst time as the marriage had been through a bit of a crisis and i had been hoping to increase my independence, however it has changed the family dynamics so much for the better, i had my little boy at age 41 and he has been such a joy. He turns 1 next weekend. A bit more of a shock now at 42 to discover i am expecting again!!!!!

Thanks Hun if I'm honest since I've posted on here I've thought sod it im gonna go with whatever happens! I don't feel 41 I've got grey hairs but just need lots of hairdressing trips!!! When's your due date?

I just wanted to say congratulations and it must have been a shock. But let the news sink in. Good luck x

Aww congratulations.. take it one day at a time ..

I hope your mum gets home soon..

Ah my mum was 43 when she had my little sister. I was 18, and I have older siblings they were 25, and 19 lol.
My mom said it was one of the best things that has happened to her :) my little sister was an auntie at 5 :p
Happy and healthy pregnancy, best of luck x

Thanks hun it was a massive shock but i know shes not suffering anymore. Just taking every day as it comes 8 weeks tomorrow and really desperate for this baby to hang in there now as i feel it happened for a reason xx

Hi Spriddy, I believe that God's timing is perfect and all happens for a reason, so sorry to hear about your mum but what a blessing to have this new life to focus you forwards. That was very much the case with my shock pregnancy last year, came after a horrendous time and it changed everything into a completey new dynamic. Doesnt make the grief any less but you know what I mean, I hope
