A few of us are planning our holidays now so Erin had the genius plan to start a thread to help us all pack the relevant stuff!! I havent a clue what we'll need but I imagine its LOTS of stuff.

Ideas needed....

Right...

Pushchair with parasol
Nappies
Wipes
Sunblock.....

I'm struggling already!!!

What's everyone doing about food/milk?? I can't weigh my cases down with jars! Maybe the pouches??

we need one of these to load up with jars

Im going to be staying with family out there so Im not packing any food for him apart from what we need on the flight. As he'll be 13 months old he'll be drinking normal cows milk too so we'll get SIL to stock her fridge before we go. Its a really good point, I think self catering holidays would be sooo much better with a LO!

Medicines??????

Might be worth packing a bottle of calpol. Im not sure though cos the bloomin things are made of heavy glass. Ummm Ill email SIL and ask if they have calpol in spain, Ill let youse know what its called then if you need it you know what to ask for in a pharmacia.

What are people doing about thermometers? In the hot weather do you need to keep an eye in their temp?

Travel cot or child bed rail? We're gonna be checking in our travel cot, it only cost £10 to checkin an additional infant item and seeing as he'll be on the move when we're there it will double as a playpen :yay:

We are all inclusive and have a cot supplied in the room so that's one less thing for us to take!

thats good that you get the cot :yay: I have no idea about their temp  I think Ill just take a forehead strip one, theyre £2 in our pharmacy and would fit in your pocket their so light, would give us an idea if we thought he was unwell then we'd know to take him to a doctor if we needed to.

Have you seen those sun tents for the beach? Im thinking of getting one, or asking my SIL to get one for his first birthday and keeping it there for when we visit, do you reckon thats cheeky? We'll be there 3 weeks after his first birthday anyway so its silly them posting a present for him!

I've never seen them? How much are they? It's not cheeky at all, it's something he will use.

I'm going away with my mum and the kids in May and I'm terrrrrrified of flying. I'm literally crapping myself already! I feel like a terrible mother for taking them on a plane lol!

We have coach transfers included, it's only about 20 mins. Do you think I can just have Emily on my knee? I don't know otherwise what to do?

Nooo youre not a terrible mother at all! in fact I never flew anywhere til I was a teenager. Youre giving them educational life experiences. Take them to the library before hand and check out some age appropriate books on planes and also some books on the country youre going to and you'll be like super educational mother, that will get rid of the guilt about taking them on a plane  Just dont let them get books about plane crashes

Oh no! You'll be fine, what is it that your scared of? Where are you going?

I love flying!!!!! I've not done a short haul flight for a while (not meaning that to be cocky) so this one to Greece will be really nice :)

I saw one of those in tesco yesterday!!!!

With regards to Calpol you can get sachets of the stuff much lighter to carry and takes up less room! They are brill! I have bought from Boots or morrisons own brand liquid paracetamol.

Sun hats are a must - I took a few just in case we lost one at the beach or something as we couldn't do with out a hat :)
