Ive forgotten exactly what they feel like as 4 years ago but remember it being a little unpleasant, just need to lie back and think of something else!
With my first I had a sweep at 41 weeks exactly (Monday) and the next morning lost my plug and had a bloody show.. that evening I was having contractions 5 mins apart from the get go.. my midwife did say to me that she managed to get a good sweep and was confident she wouldn’t be seeing me on the Wednesday for our next scheduled appointment. I was already 1-2cm dilated at that point. Had a sweep at 39 weeks with my second on the Monday just gone and apart from a little spotting and loosing a lot of clear mucus plug along with some period like cramps nothings happened.. I’m booked in for another on Monday so time will tell.. I personally think your cervix and body needs to be ready or it won’t work but also is it that the sweep works or is that you were just ready anyway? Who knows?
