Hey ladies, I'm new to this forum so this is my first post. I'm 6 weeks pg tomorrow but have been spotting since wk 3 (found out I was pregnant in week 4) At first, as it was a week before my period due date I thought it was just the beginning of period or implantation, then when the period was due I missed two days prompting me to do a test, clear blue said 2-3 weeks, I have continued to spot since then however, dark brown, with one afternoon of dark red. No clotting (although occasionally there is what looks like tissue (sorry tmi)). I just wondered if there is anyone else out there who has spotted from the very beginning for a while and all been well? As you can imagine I'm thinking the worst (missed miscarriage etc) and all I ever read are people who've had it for just a few days, or a few hours or people who start spotting much later ...

PS> As new to this I have no idea what all the clever abbreviations are so apologies for the long msg!! haha

Hello congratulations on your positive and welcome.

It might be an idea to contact your gp and get a refferal to an early pregnancy unit. Some spotting in early pregnancy can normal. With my youngest I had spotting before my period was due and a few weeks after. I went to the doctor and he send me for a scan and there was a tiny heartbeat, I was about 6. I then had a normal healthy pregnancy.

Its definitely worth a chat to your gp! Xx

I was spotting red and brown blood from 7w to just over 12w.

xxx

I spotted from 5 weeks until 15 weeks! And had 2 very heavy bleeds in between! Baby always been ok! It's awful but it can be normal for some people! X

Thanks ladies - I have spoken to my GP today, he's referred me to the EPAU tomorrow for a scan so hopefully they will be able to tell me something. I think it's the duration that's most worrying. I have no pain etc, but that's a long time to have it it seems and quite unusual compared to other stories... fingers crossed for tomorrow morning! x

Hey I experience brown spotting from 7th Nov to 5th Dec and found out I was preg on 23rd Nov. I had s scan at epau which identified two sacks and a high possibility that I had a failing twin which was causing the bleed. I had a rescan today and this proved to be correct.

However they did say that it's quite common for some ladies to have a sack of blood like a bruise and this doesn't harm your baby. I'm sure everything will be just fine. Fx for you xx

Wow, SesameSeed that's not something I've heard before, I'm sorry to hear that but it sounds like you are getting to the bottom of it and otherwise all is well? Best of luck to you, and thank you, this really helped... I'll hopefully know more tomorrow!

Everything else is absolutely fine and I saw my babies heartbeat today.... Apparently it's called the invisible twin and quite common that it us absorbed by the body during the first 5-10 weeks and often goes unnoticed xx

Hi ladies, so I had my scan and it looks like a miscarriage for me I'm afraid. They have asked me to have another scan after Christmas to be sure as there is a slim chance it's just too early to see anything but judging by the length of time Iv been spotting with the odd bleed and the scan looking 'empty' that may be wishful thinking. Best of luck to the rest of you though X

Oh no I'm so sorry for your loss hon. I will keep you in my thoughts xxxx
