Hi ladies

When did you start using pregnancy cream/oil to prevent stretch marks?

And which product please?

And tried and tested ones

there's not really anything you can do to stop stretch marks, if you're guna get them you'll get them but...

I love burts bees belly butter and bio oil. just to stop the skin getting super dry and it's a nice routine rubbing cream over my belly.. that's what I used last pregnancy and will do again this one

I never got any in my last pregnancy and I haven't got any so far at 24 weeks
I do a body scrub once a week and just use whatever normal moisturiser I have x

I used lots of creams last time and my belly looks like spaghetti junction.

If your skin doesn’t stretch well the creams likely won’t prevent them. I sadly fall into that category! My advice is don’t get crazy big when pregnant (like put 4 stone on big) and keep the skin moisturised. Anything that moisturises will be fine. I use aveeno and sanctuary products because I like the smell

I know it probably doesn't work but I started using it at the start of the second trimester, as soon as my bump started to show really. I use palmers belly butter and I really love the stuff!! It was £3 for a decent sized tub which has lasted a long time, I much prefer it to bio oil etc. Currently 26 weeks and no stretch marks so far

Ive been using bio oil since 16 weeks every other day or so. It stops the itchingvand ive no stretch marks yet (currently 30 weeks). I use it on my hips, thighs, boobs, bum and lower back too.
My friend used Rituals mama cream and said it worked for her and she kindly gave me a tub for christmas so ill use that for the remainder of my pregnancy.

Unfortunately no cream can prevent stretch marks, you’ll either get them or not I’m afraid. No harm in keeping skin well mosturised though, but don’t buy into these specific stretch mark creams. It’s usually genetic - neither my mum, my sister or me have any stretch marks, we are very lucky with the elasticity of our skin. I’m on my 3rd baby and haven’t used any cream at all and am 38 weeks now.

Nothing works so don't waste money on 'special creams 'just keep your skin moisturiser with regular cream

It is true what they say I covered myself in bio oil and neals yard remedies stuff and none of it worked. I had them all over my tummy and I wasn’t even that big! I had to go for growth scans as was measuring small. The girls are right when they say it’s down to you as an individual and nothing can prevent them if your skin doesn’t like stretching! If you do get them just imbrace them you’ve given birth to the most precious gift which unfortunately not everyone can. They also fade over time!! Good luck xx

You either will get them or won't.

I didn't have any until about two weeks before dd was born and then bam covered. Even my vagina got some  Bio oil is a dream though for before and after pregnancy to help even out scars and stretch marks. My mum was in an accident and broke her jaw and she had a scar on the side of her face. They told her to use that and it really helped it disappear so that what I use. Oh and I agree with Mexico they do definitely fade on their own too X

My mum had the worst stretch marks you will ever see and she moisturised religiously during pregnancy! I had a 9lb7 baby and I'm slim and short so my stomach got stretched beyond belief. BUT I have had eczema most of my life so I moisturise daily anyway and I didn't get a single stretch mark. I have stretch marks on my thighs from growing fast as a teenager so I am prone to them. I believe moisturizing for all those years prior to pregnancy helped prevent mine. I use the Dr Organic body lotion from Holland & Barrett

My sister was 7 stone wet through and her belly got massive with both of her daughters. She used a clarins oil and swears by it but it’s £40 a bottle so may not be worth it if it’s actually down to genetics. That being said I’m using the same oil now - I’m only 15 weeks though. I’ve been using it since 10 weeks.

i covered myself in bio oil my first pregnancy and no stretchmarks. second pregnancy used nothing at all and no stretchmarks. So i agree with those who say its down to genetics. my mum has no stretchmarks either.

I just used aqueous cream. I didnt get stretch marks, but dont think it was due to aqueous. I will however be using it again as its nice on the skin. Boots have the best one i think for a big tub its around £4.
