Stitches...

As I had a forcep delivery & had to be cut I've had stitches inside & out which.since yesterday have been killing me to the point i can't stop crying because.I cant even sit up for long enough to hold my son or bend over to pick him up it feels like one stitch is like barbed wire & has possibly pierced my skin has this happened to anyone at all ? I've got the midwife in today going to get her to check & hopefully she will be able to do something for me.just wondering if anybody else has had similar experiences ?

I had sane as u forceps with a cut and a tear it took a good 3-4 weeks to feel comfy to sit for long periods. I was paranoid about infection, split stitches etc and I kept getting mw to check lol but they were always fine.
My advice a a bath with just some tea tree oil in an get a heamoroid cushion, it took the pressure off so I can atleast sit long enough to feed LO! Also god send in the car

I know exactly how you feel i was stiched with my eldest daughter and mine became infected too, it hurt to sit/stand/move

I couldnt pick her up or bath her on my own for a few weeks, cant remember if your bf or not but if your not id try some pain relief hunni they work wonders

I had a large tear and internal and external stitches and they were bearable after 2 weeks. I got some anti swelling cream from the doctor and it really helped. Made it more comfortable to sit etc. Just try not to put pressure on them. I found sitting in a shallow bath was lovely!

Thanks ladies had them checked over I'm just badly bruised & swollen stitches are fine feeling a bit better as the days go on been taking pain killers & anti-inflammatory tablets which are helping a lot

Add lavender oil to bit of milk and add it to your bath that helps heal.

Also get some arnica tablets if you can for the bruising

Please someone reassure me that I will be able to have sex after all this. Lol. I am so sore I just can't imagine it ever feeling normal. My stitches have all burst by the way so we are just waiting with baited breath to see how I heal cos there nothing they can do at this stage xx

You will! My downstairs was unrecognisable after the twins, it was just a mess of bloody stitched up meat, I'm not kidding you. x
