Hi girls!!

Sorry for the title, it’s a bit dramatic I know, but I just feel it’s bloody impossible to dress classy while expecting :(

I’m currently on my 4th month of pregnancy and I really need nice clothes for the office and probably just to feel I'm not a bloody whale – I need to feel I’m a pretty one at least lol. Until now I've managed with my own clothes, using loose fitting frocks/T-shirts... but no jokes, I felt it was time to get a few garments!

I've gone through ALL maternity websites and, honestly, I like nearly nothing… must confess most of them aren’t expensive but the fabrics are not that inspiring? I don’t know, I don’t need to buy an umpteen of things but at least 3 or 4 really nice ones.
I found just one really nice maternity brand I’ve never heard about before called WOMUM Barcelona which I highly recommend as the fabrics are super (they use loads of chiffon)! I’ve bought 3 pieces from them… but apart from that one… It’s a bloody DRAMA to get dressed and feel attractive. Do you know any other brand?

MANY THANKS
Julia

I know the feeling! Preggos really have to learn to love breton stripes, huh?

I found a great dress on Asos, and there were another few things that seemed good there. Mostly I've given up on 'interesting' and am wearing plain black tops with funky-pattern hareem pants that seem to be fitting me still. I work from home though :D

I'm 23 weeks and am still wearing a lot of normal clothes, but I'm wearing short dresses as though they were long tops and wearing normal dresses over jeans or leggings. Have also stolen a couple of tops from my husband, which he may never get back. I'm not saying they look good, but maaan they're comfy :D

Oh, and whatever you do, don't go into John Lewis thinking 'well, they MUST have a decent maternity section, right?'

They have one rail. One.

It's a nightmare! It all looks awful! I'm waiting for summer so I can live in pretty maxi dresses for the rest of the pregnancy.

Can't wait to get back into normal clothes! x

ASOS and next has been good for me. I am not a fan of new look. I wish monsoon did maternity x

I bought some maternity clothes from love yours but they are not things i would usually wear but there really isnt much choice.

All the jeans i looked at were skinny jeans which isnt my style when i'm feeling like a whale so after hours of searching i found some nice ones on bonprix.

Why isn't there a great selection of maternity clothes out there!!?

I'm getting bored of my clothes too; it's quite frustrating. I bought a nice blazer which can go over lots of different plain tops which looks smart without having to buy too many different items. I have found H&M to have some nice options and bought a very nice dress from Asos too.

I'm in maternity trousers but other than one proper maternity top, I've just bought a couple in bigger sizes which I'm hoping will see me through (only five weeks to go now!) That being said I found a size 10 top which is my normal size in Tesco in the sale which fits. I guess it's all dependant on the style.

Seraphine. It's the brand of choice for Celebs and royalty! But seriously their stuff is good and I lived in it for my job with my first and second pregnancies ( I don't work now). Probably biggest concern is cost - a dress is around £50 BUT look out for sales and discounts as they often heavily discount. The site always has an 'outlet' section when the sale isn't on for things that are reduced. Another great way to get their stuff cheap is eBay. I've found that their stuff wears really well so buying from eBay stuff seemed nearly new and certainly my stuff has made it through 3 pregnancies still looking great. I have the knot front dress in 5 different colours and it's great for covering a multitude of sins. They also have suggestions about how to form a 'capsule' wardrobe by getting a few pieces for work then you could getter cheaper brand tops or Blazers etc

Vertbaudet online are also quite good x

I'm a bridesmaid for my friend and she's insisting on these stuff, 20's style high necked dresses

It's really getting me down because Of course nothing fits :(.

Broke down in debenhams today was awful.

Hey! I found this new brand called WOMUM Barcelona (check out their instagram named WOMUM). They don't have trousers but their tops are just LO-VE-LY! I got 3 pieces (like there's no tomorrow haha).
Honestly I think I'll be able to wear them after as the fabrics seem really good quality!
GOOD LUCK!

I don't really liked Seraphine... I found it was a bit bland, didn't you? Appart from a few ones, I didn't like the majority of it.
Probably I'm like a broken record but I swear I discovered a super brand called WOMUM (check out their instagram). I think it's a small brand so they don't offer a massive catalogue but I'm in love with nearly all their clothes!

Some of the larger H&M stores have maternity clothes. They're quite plain and simple, like the normal H&M clothes, so not the most exciting but great if you're looking for basics. Their jeans are super comfy too, and cheap!

I got a nice pair of smart work trousers from next! Only do maternity online though lol!!

If you can't find slacks you like, and you are handy with sewing -

I have made all my maternity slacks and jeans. The store ones just are so saggy on my rear, and that doesn't help anything.

I started with a cheap pair of clearance slacks. Just to see if I could manage. Then got a few secondhand pairs and converted them all. No sad, droopy rear, but plenty of room for baby.

There's a billion tutorials online. Or I can get some new slacks and take pictures if needed.
