I’m 39+3 and due to be induced on Friday as I have severe SPD, think the baby must be engaged as having SUCH horrific pain in my pubic area which I think is a combo of baby’s head and SPD?

Other than this I’ve been having awful heartburn, nausea, sleepless nights, period cramps in my lower back. Really don’t want to be induced but looks like this baby isn’t coming out on his own just like his big brother didn’t :(

Sorry for pity party, i’m so lucky but 5 months of pain and being largely confined to house has done my head in!

Any one have these symptoms and go into labour soon after?!

I did. Although not like soon I'd say about a week or so.

I had bad spd and had to stop work but still had my eldest at home so you know what it's like you never rest. I went for a sweep soon after my due date and that kicked things off though but I dunno how long I could have went. I either lived on the ball or in the bath even then didn't always help. I needed induced third time. Are they willing to try a sweep prior to induction as a last attempt? Or maybe some pain control?

Big hugs. It's not a nice feeling being in so much pain. You end up more annoyed that baby isn't coming than impatient because of the pain. The heartburn reflux I had to take omeprazole for that helped. I just felt shit from day to night towards the end then on my due date I decided to decorate. I was sore as hell but bad nesting took over. Was in agony days after labour too. Although they say spd is better for labour as you part easier. Dunno how true that is because I didn't have spd first time and had a totally different birth. Second time was better for me as it wasn't induction I got in the pool and he came soon after waters being popped.

Wishing you baby luck.

Xxx

Why don't you want to be induced?

(I'm still learning)

Sorry for the pain you are going through xx

Thanks RM sounds like you were in same exact boat! I’ve managed so far with gaviscon, think If I had longer left I would’ve gone to get something stronger. I have my 40 week appt weds at 39+5. Hoping they’ll take pity and do a sweep. Currently bouncing on ball like there’s no tomorrow! Induction is Friday.

Thanks justtrying. I was induced with my little boy ended up with an epidural because the contractions were more intense (not same for everyone). I don’t want an epi this time for other medical reasons so desperate to try it without! x

Yeah it's so debilitating I think partly is why I decorated. I was trapped as I live up 3 flights of stairs. I was staring at everything and the house depressed me lol. The end is near. Let's hope the labour is a doddle and the build up was worth it. But your doing all you can. Dunelm do a longish hot water bottle(teddy material cover). When I was in early labour I had a hot water bottle under bump and Down my pants and was on ball. It got me to 7cm that and the bath. I think I was so used to being in pain I was in denial.

Yeah push for a sweep. I was told mine was failed and it done the job. If they are gonna induce you they may aswell.

When I had my first I went 14 days over. I was in fucking agony after having 2 pessaries then I needed dihydrocodiene to help I woke up in pain ready to give birth and he came out super fast I was drowsy it wasn't good but I did come out the other end thinking it was a decent labour because it was fast and he got here. But it was a bit of a shock to the system if I'm honest.

Second time after sweep I was in labour from fri. Went hospital sat night spent 4hr in pool with G&A and climbed out had my waters popped and he came. So now I know a decent labour and it was much more chill and I felt in control. Aside from that I wasn't basically confined to a bed.

Either way you hope for the safest but it's never easy so an induction is prob the least. One thing I did appreciate being a first time mum is I felt if something happened I was in right place. Second time I knew what to do. Although I still worried before that I wouldn't know.

PS ask for omeprazole if your in bad pain from gp and tell them nothing is helping. I took one in morning and had a stomach of steel lol.

He does have so much hair though. Pain is beauty.
