Slightly Concerned

Aw! They just don't understand do they! I don't drive and it costs a bloody fortune getting taxis so I know exactly how you feel! Fingers crossed results come back fine x x

Hi girls, Not updated much in the last few days, its been a bit manic here!
My blood results showed I do have diabetes and Ive got to go up to the hospital on friday morning to see the specialist to discuss diet etc.

Does this mean i'll end up having a c-section? I havent really got much understanding of gestational diabetes...yet lol xx

At my check up last week, the doctor asked me to go back again this week for another check up.

Im really worried that I have or am developing pre-eclampsia :(

My ankles keep ballooning, my hands have also started to do this now too, I keep getting pains on my right at the bottom of my ribs (front and back), I've been feeling pretty unwell the last 3 days, just not myself but nothing I can really put my finger on... and a few times since my last appointment, I've had white dots floating infront of my eyes, only for a few seconds each time and not every day but Im worried :(

My mum suffered with pre-eclampsia much earlier along than I am now (with my brother and me), and she was admitted in to hospital, which I really dont want.

Sorry girls, Im just feeling a bit nervous and my parents are away on holiday and OH is having a nightmare of a week at work so didn't really have anywhere else to vent!

Hello  wanted to let you know that i have the ballooning ankles too, and also the rib/back pain you describe. The ankle swelling is unfortunately a normal part of late pregnancy, but im not saying ignore it...keep an eye on your hands, the midwife always asks me about my hands when i say i have swollen legs.

the rib pain is the ligaments all stretched and the presence of relaxin which has softened everything. i know how you feel, it is excrutiating, and feels like bruising, worse when you prod it?

i suppose your body is telling you to take a rest...maybe time to hit the couch and rest up and not feel guilty about it or lazy...just your body telling you what it wants you to do.

look after yourself xx

my neighbour had GB twice and pushed out 10lbers naturally, no stitches....i think she was induced early though, to prevent the baby being to big to deliver naturally xx

Thanks Skimpy! :)
Hopefully I dont need a c-section then!!!

Glad you got some answers, good luck on friday for your diet appointment , and at least they know about it now and can advise and check on you and baby X
