My wife is 13w today. She had a mc earlier in the year. Had 3 scan this pregnancy, all fine.

However, my wife has said her boobs have went down in size over the last 2 day. Used a Doppler to reassure us but could only find my wifes heartbeat. Never used a Doppler before! Has anyone used a doppler, found no heartbeat for everything to be OK?

Your wife may be a bit early to be using a doppler, my midwife had trouble finding baby's HB and I was 17 weeks, lol. I'm sure everything will be just fine but i'd give the MW a bell if you're really concerned. :)

I don't know much about dopplers as my midwife told me not to use one as I would only stress myself out when I couldn't find heartbeat but what I have heard is that they don't really work until you are a bit further on in the pregnancy.
Hope everything is ok for you.

i went to the midwife at 14 weeks and the head midwife said it is early to hear a heartbeat but she'd have a go and it took her ages to find it and it was really quiet so i wouldnt worry xx

Think we just wanted reassurance as the 16w scan is ages away!!!!

Just need to see how my wife feels in the next few days...

yeah its normal its very low down normally too i find i struggle to find heartbeat with doppler later at night x

The doppler don't pick up babies heartbeat till about 22 weeks

I heard little mans heartbeat at 13 weeks but found it hard but have been finding it very easily since 15 weeks!! It's only a cheapie Doppler too :)

Suppose everyone is different. Internet figures range from 10weeks to 20weeks when they first hear.

Thanks for all your feedback btw

A very worry hubbie!

I didnt hear babys heartbeat till 18weeks+ and even then it was really hard to find but at 20weeks was really easy! x

hey hun...dont worry it can be fine...everyones different and depends where the baby is lying...if u have any specfic concerns just contact the midwife!! xx
