Hi Misskth. Just wanted to reply to this. I'm also a teacher and for me personally it would very much depend on the parent! I know some of ours would happily share information with many other Mums!! You would hope she would maintain confidentiality as she should in her role.
Did she ask if you minded like there was an alternative midwife you could opt for? So far on my midwife appointments I've seen 3 different ones (due to days off, late home births etc), but don't know how set it is in your area/Drs.
In terms of examinations I can only say what I've had so far as this is also my first baby! My midwife appointments have been taking bloods, urine samples, blood pressure, feeling tummy, listening to heartbeat and discussing notes. I would however think about how personal some of the things you discuss are and how comfortable you are doing that with a parent, regardless of whether you currently teach their child or not.
