September 2017 Mummas Thread!

She was being a little monkey as expected, feet crossed at the ankles refusing to budge, the sonographer was lovely though and had me arse in the air wiggling about, jumping up and down and swivelling around until she eventually moved about and let her in! She seemed 100% confident she's definitely a she, did a close up and explained what everything was. We are delighted. Hubby originally really wanted a boy, I've always been hoping for a girl, he went to a psychic last week who told him he was worried about being a good dad to his daughter and said he's nothing to worry about he'll be crying at the birth and a fantastic dad. We laughed a lot about it as my hubby isn't the emotional type but said the psychic was spot on at picking up on his thoughts about other things too. She apologised for blurting out it was a girl but I think for some reason it made him really want a girl so I'm happy!

Awhh Claire so pleased for you. Mine wasn't shy at all she wouldn't show her face but seeing inbetween her legs was so easy xD I'm still really worried that they're gonna tell me it's a bit at my 20 week scan ahaha. I've stopped buying stuff now incase lol. I secretly wanted a girl to, but wouldn't have been disappointed if it was a bottle, just so happy to be getting a baby heh x

Haha I know there's totally that fear that it's wrong! I'm not telling them at the 20 week scan that I already know, my hospital can be so weird about you going for private scans even tho the woman who done mine last night actually asked if she'd had me in the hospital before as I looked familiar and she also works there!

I went out this morning to buy my first something pink and couldn't find a thing I liked! How typical!

Haha! Can't wait for the 20 week scan!
Asda do some really nice things, and they have a sale on, not sure how much would be left now, but I bought loads from there lol. Babies r us are so expensive for clothes!
I wouldn't care if they new i went private! Be like it's none of your business. Xx

Congratulations Clairedoll!

I'm so certain mines a girl but I can't wait to find out.

I had my 16 week Midwife appointment. My midwife was shocked at how high my uterus was. I had just explained how much it's has been tugging and that it feels so strange pushing up. She says that I have a narrow pelvis and short abdomen. My bump has nowhere to go but out, eek x

Made it to the second tri! Yay! And, in other news my first scan showed 2 little ones! I'm having twins! I'm already showing now too... Ugh. Here's my 14 week 1 day photo.

My midwife said the same thing. Then, I had my scan and she said the twins plus having a narrow pelvic bone has literally given my uterus no where to go but out. So, cause of that I'm already showing.

My midwife didn't measure my uterus... she didn't even ask about the bump. I am showing though - I put a pick up earlier in the week on the bump thread :)

Lovely bump, Steph!

Congratulations Claire doll lovely bump Steph congratulations on the twins :)
I am
Completely exhausted today had lots going on at the school, trying to pack a house and the baby hasn't slept I've just put him in his cot but he's banging the bars so much for a sneaky nap before my daughter comes home from grandads

Twins, omg  congratulations :) x

Eeeeeep twins, congratulations Steph! I've been showing for weeks now too, enormous already. Your bump is lovely!

Elfs Mummy, I feel your pain. Got my 1yo down for 2 hours but then spent it working around my 2yo, we were cleaning windows, scrubbing down cupboards and cleaning the doors! Had the cleaning fairy in me today so I've done jobs I normally avoid for 6+ months  looking forward to bedtime and putting my feet up with some Korean drama programmes

Both children still up bring on 2 1/2 weeks of holidays and no sneaky naps :(

ClaireDoll lovely news!
StephHaddris- twins wow!

On another note can I ask all you ladies some advice. I am a teacher and at my 8 wk midwife appt I discovered my Midwife is a parent. I don't currently teach her child but there is a possibility I could in the future. At that appointment when she (equally surprised!) asked if I was ok about it I said fine because I was caught up in seeing my midwife for the first time etc. Now I have spent the last few weeks mulling it over and wanted some advice. As it is my first I have no idea what appointments are like. Would there be internal examinations? What do you think?

Thanks! And, yeah I already feel huge... Sad part is the maternity clothes I bought about a week and a half ago barely fit now. I also thought that the second tri was supposed to generally give me less symptoms and a wee bit more energy. I have had the opposite effect. Anyone else experience this?

Um.. Does anybody else have really itchy armpits, or know what this is about?!
It's been happening on and off for about a week now...

That's odd. Not sure what that is about. Maybe you're sweating more? Wish I could answer that better for you.

Steph, definitely yes to no energy and still get huge waves of nausea. Horrid, doesn't seem to want to go at all! Although everything died down from about 15-16 weeks so maybe it'll continue to. Hopefully anyway!

FFO, yes to itchy armpits! Try putting your deodorant on at nighttime instead of the morning to see if it's sweat related, or it could be that your hair is growing quicker with pregnancy hormones and shaving is irritating more. Get a soft moisturiser and put it on at night too, before your deo.

Lovely bumps Elfs Mummy
