semen analysis

Hi ladies,

I posted a couple of weeks ago about where we could get semen analysis done privately. well, hubby has now been tested and they gave him results there and then which was good.........and then not so good.

He was told the results are poor to moderate, there was a good number of them, but not propelling themselves forward enough. The man said that it will happen but will probably just take a bit longer

Probably explains the 4 failed clomid cycles, which really annoyed me at first as it made me feel so awful.

so, we go back to see fertillity docs on 4th Jan. Does anyone know what they are likely to suggest? or has anyones OH had simillar results but still been successful?

Just to top things off i am now ovulating, I guess there must still be some clomid in my system this is my first cycle without it. Which would make me 12dpo xmas day and I keep thinking how bloody lovely would that be and i'm not wasting the chance to be in with a shot, then get peed off that with my dodgy ovaries and now his lazy sperm we dont stand a chance!

I'd suggest really going hard on your hubby's lifestyle.

No caffeine, no heat, no alcohol, no smoking, no radiation and then lots of water and antioxidants.

He needs to keep it up for 3-4 months to see improvement but if it's just his motility that's buggered than maybe it will do the trick xx

hi lucky, sorry about the results - can i ask - did they not do a semen analysis before the clomid rounds??
