Sorry ladies just having a wee sad moment. My husband is in the process of joining the police and part of it is to go away to the north of Scotland for 10 weeks at a training camp. He's just been told today that this will begin in September which means he'll be away when I am due our baby. I am so so pleased that he has got this far as it's a job he's always wanted but can't help feel a little teary at the thought he won't be around towards the end of my pregnancy. Both my parents have passed away so just scared it's going to be a really rough time.

Anyway, need to get a grip, sorry just don't really have anyone to talk to xx

 have faith Claire I am sure they will work sth out

Yes keep your chin up I am sure they will allow for him to be with you near your due date

PS Scotland is really nice :) xx

Awwwww I'm sorry hub but try not to be too down about it, I'm sure they'll let him have some form of paternity leave. I think it's a right now? Not sure. But anyway, keep smiling :) xx

Aw sorry to hear that! Hopefully they'll be able to work something out for him x

Tulliallan isnt North of Scotland hun! Its in Kincardine which isnt actually all that far from where you live!

they will also let him go if you go into labour, just keep fingers crossed he isnt due an exam the next day!

good luck. x

oh, one thing i would say is that the mobile phone signal is CRAP up there, so he will need to get you an emergency number to call the main Sgts office. x

Good luck to your oh, I'm sure he'll be back for the birth.
I would LOVE to join the police, it's my dream job x

you are quite entitled, its gonna be a stressful time for you both! your hubby will be training and studying hard, and you are going to be right at the end of your pregnancy and probably really grouchy and even more emotional! And he will be up there in the Copper lounge, having a few pints with lots and lots of brand new best friends!

just try to remember it will all be worth it in the end, its a good career and an even better retirement! lol. x

Tulliallan is a lot more relaxed these days, I'm out of it about 2 years, and they let you leave in the evenings and that now - so he should be able to travel home on the odd night to see you and bubs.

It is tough up there though, so as Lynds said, he will be stressed out and studying hard, so be prepared for it.

Its all worth it in the end though!
