I knew i needed to ask something...thought this would be the best place to post as it seems to get everyone popping in.
Do your ermmm "bits" go back to normal  after birth? I'm worried about this lol. :oooo:

I really worried about this because as far as 'they' go, I was quite proud of mine! Lol

I didn't have any stitches or anything so not sure how that would affect things but I think it was slightly different at first. I could only wait 4 weeks after having DS for sex and it didn't hurt but it just felt a bit different.

After a few more weeks and a few more pelvic floor exercises, I was back to normal pretty much.

Hope this time around doesn't wreck it though as I've only had one kid!!

I had 3 really bad tears and had lots of stitches so it was very sore for a long while, tried to have sex after 3 weeks and couldn't tried again after 4 and it still hurt but was bareble. Tegan is now 12 weeks old and it feels back to normall, no idea if it looks normall though lol! x

Ive had 3 kids it does look slightly different but if I'm being honest my husband says I'm as tight as when I met him and IMO the sex feels allot better it certainly isn't ugly but I got stretchies on mine when I was pushing my second out lol so not the same when waxes any more lol!

I asked my OH if it's different and he said it's the same as before.
I'm the same as Evie though, I did get some stretch marks down there from my 1st labour.

So thats everyone saying theirs has pretty much gone back to normal...thats a good sign, thanks :) xx

Yep and I had 2/3rd tear down there as well can't even notice it :)

Yea it hurt the stitched it all back up the stitches were worse than the labour lol!

i think its tighter then before and so does OH and it feels even better now, but i still cant do surtan possitions and i dont know what it looks like, i was cut all the way back tho.

For the first few weeks/months its like a car crash down there, but further down the line yes, after one child everything goes exactly back into place which is actually quite amazing.

:)

I read something somewhere about a cream or like gel, thats meant to make things more...'elasticated' (sp??) down there for giving birth, anyone heard about this and if it actually works? I think the main thing i am worried about regarding labour is tearing!! xx

I used evening primrose oil ? It was supposed to mean I would avoid tearing , I had an episiotimy though . So I dont know if it would have worked .. For the first 6-8 weeks after everything looked and felt out of place and almost numb . I remember feeling I'd never pee properly or enjoy sex again . I was sooooo upset and worried . But Within no time I felt back to myself , and without being too crude my OH claims things are neater and tighter than before  . i think the most important thing is let yourself heal properly (stock up on tea-tree oil , its amazing in a bath for healing , and arnica cream as its great for bruising) and as soon as your feeling up to it start doing your pelvic floor exercises . Dont get scared if you cant do them at first (I couldn't even tell when I needed to pee for a week or so) and in no time you'll feel just like yourself . Sorry about the essay reply :)

I used evening primrose and didn't tear at all I would say def helped :) with my son I used nothing and had a 2/3 degree tear and stitches and he was 8 lbs 3 and Chloe was 8lb 12 and just a graze x

Think i'll get some of this. I didn't tear last time but terrified of this happening this time! When do you start to put it on?

Also before the birth, probably about week 35 onwards, I ate Arnica tablets which helped for bruising. They look like tiny little sweetners and just taste like sugar from Holland and Barratt. I'll be getting some of those this time around too!

From 34 weeks I think (don't quote me lol) you cam swallow them from 37 weeks you pop a capsule up

Oh! I thought it was an oil you rubbed in! haha, I would have been doin it totally wrong then!

I'll check it out with midwifey next week! Cheers hun x
