Not only did I have the shittest birth ever and an struggling to come to terms with it but have just realised that Theo weighed 9lbs 5oz when he was born!! They told us 9lbs 9oz!! I know they do it in kilograms these days but is it really that hard to convert??? I'm so pissed off!! He weighs 8lbs 9oz today and thought he had dropped loads because last midwife said he weighed 8lbs 13oz at day 5 but just converted that and it was 8lb 7oz - why can these people not give us correct details!! I feel a bit cheated! I don't know why, but I'm seriously pissed off that they told us the wrong weight!! :-/

My hospital got it wrong they told me ruby was 7lbs 6oz when she was 8lbs 1oz xxx

Aw no!

Sounds like they are a bit incompetent.

Did you give birth in your hospital where you work hun? I know you didn't want to and were gonna have a home birth etc

I thought they messed up joshs weights too but n the back of the red book it says they were right. But when I convert it myself, it doesn't match? Always thought his was odd.x

Arr it's so annoying! No didn't have him in the hospital I work in! Was at home for 35 hours of the labour, but had to go in coz I couldnt cope with the pain anymore! Turns out he wasn't going to come out anyway so good job I did go in because he was in a back to back/ transverse position with his head! He would never have been born naturally :-( xx

they have a conversion table they use so they dont actually work it out themselves just look up waht ...grams is in pounds ans ounces so im not surprised they mis read it

Maybe I am just hormonal but it's really made me cross! They messed up so many times when I was there, and wound me up and this has just pushed me over the edge! I'm always going to remember them telling me he was 9lbs 9oz - but he wasn't! X

it must be worse for you cos you know how to do the job properly...

Check at the back of your red book, does it add up there? I have noticed this happen too when I've converted C's weight on an app on my phone, it didn't match what mw said, but when I checked red book, it matched.

It's just blatantly incompetent. I would never give someone the wrong weight - especially that far out!! Grrr xx

I haven't got my red book yet. Haven't even seen or heard from a HV!! Xx

Wss^^^^. They put details in it when they did hearing and hip tests etc in hospital and mw/HV put nots in it during the first week or two of checks. They also put details in it of vaccinations when your baby is due them.

I would chase that up with them hun

I was told a whole lb different...I think it's quite common for them to be wrong. You should have got your red book in the hospital. When they checked theo over what did they write in?

thats terrible, you should complain, the hv brought me my red book at first visit. xx

Ella was 3.53kgs but When I convert on my phone It says she was 7.8lbs but in my red book she is 7.13lb which is what the hospital said x

They wrote in my postnatal notes?! Don't know if I should have had it or not yet. When mw has been visiting she hasn't mentioned anything about it! Would be typical of my hospital though if they did forget it. Also theo didn't have a hip or hearing test?? Really hoping when the HV does eventually show she can explain these things to me!
