I wanted to start drinking raspberry leaf tea now that I am 32 weeks but forgot to ask the midwife yesterday and don't see her for another three weeks; am I ok to start drinking it without checking?? I've had a pretty normal pregnancy xx

I'm 37+3 and have been wondering if it's too late to start now!! Seeing my midwife tomorrow so I'll check with her then, I'll also ask advised time to start to see if 32 weeks is fine, though I'm sure more ladies will have an answer for you before then!

Can you phone your midwife to ask her opinion any sooner? x

I'm almost 31 weeks and I started drinking 1 a day a couple of days ago. I will up the amount at 36 weeks and from 37 weeks I will be drinking it by the bucket. :) When I asked the MW last time she told me not to start until 37 weeks but I must admit I ignored her advice. I hate the taste of this stuff so I started early and hoped to get used to it. No luck so far.

I've heard of drinking raspberry leaf but not sure what it does how it helps etc. xxx

"Raspberry leaf tea is thought to tone the muscles of your uterus (womb), to help it to work better during labour. The idea is not so much to speed up your labor, but to help it to progress at a nice, steady pace."

Think I'll phone her, the midwife at my antenatal recommended it so should be fine :) xx

My midwife mentioned this to me at 37 weeks. Only thing she said is if you have had a quick labour previously it's not recommended to take. X

Can I tri hop and ask where you get your raspberry leaf tea please ladies? Sounds stupid but is it loose leaf tea or is that just the name and it's in normal teabags? Just planning ahead...X

They aren't the nicest so would suggest putting some cordial in it! xx

I have nothing to really compare it too..
But my labour was mjst iver 8hrs from 1st contract at 10.30am to him arriving 5.44pm.
My uturus contracted back really quick too, mws were impressed lol.
I didnt really like the tea but forced myself to drink kt.
The capsules were better to take.

It didnt help bring on labour as I went 10days overdue. But I like to believe it helped whilst in labour xx
