Ive always had a flaky scalp and have used polytar shampoo occasionally to clear it.

Realised last week my scalp was a but itchier than usual but then hard some itchiness on my neck got my mum to check it and she has psoriasis and she said ghats what it looks like. Went to the pharmacist and they said I cant ise it in pregnancy abd need to see GP. It now feels like its spreading down my back. Has anyone used any natural remedies??

Aloe vera is supposed to be good for psoriasis. I don't have any personal experience with it but I remember my FIL telling me that. Hope u can get it cleared soon x

Hiii, I used to have it quite bad before I was pregnant and it got a bit worse at the start of my pregnancy. I had to stop using my t gel shampoo and my midwife told me the doc could prescribe a special shampoo but before I got round to it, it cleared up completely and now using timotei shampoo and conditioner keeps it away completely xxx

Im working in dermotology atm and a patient who I saw this week has awful psoriasis. Unfortunately she had to stop most of her treatments when she was pregnant. Non-steroidal topical treatments such as creams and ointments should be ok, but without having it checked out by somebody I dont think it will be possible to find something to help it calm down a bit. Make an appointment with your GP, who if they suspect psoriasis should refer you to see a dermotologist who can assess your skin properly.

Have you tried doublebase in the mean time? It's a plain moisturiser which is fab for hydrating your skin. A plain moisturiser may help to keep some of the flaky dry skin at bay, as the skin of those with psoriasis regenerates about 4/5 times faster than those without x

My suggestion is I'm afraid you need to see a specialist so you need to be refered from your doctor stress from the pregnancy together with the stress of getting married is only going to make the flare up worst and trying different remedies especially things like teatree oil can cause your very sententive skin into over drive .Of course it's up to you but I suffer with psoriasis myself I currently have a very small flare up on my hand and the only cream I can use on it is E45 everything else makes it 100% worst . I really think you need urgent referral to skin specialist asap, Good luck and I really hope it gets sorted for your wedding xx

Hi!

About 6 months ago I work up covered in psoriasis! I went to the doctors and they had no idea what had caused it or what is was, they gave me tablets which made it twice as bad, i was covered head to toe! I then went back to the docs two days later and I got sent straight to a dermatology department who perscrived me a number of creams and it finally went. The dermatologist could t understand why the doctors had given me the tablets!

For the best advice get referred to the dermatology dept! I've been using eumovate which really helps me, now I've only got a small patch on my back, and small amounts on my scalp.

It will go :)
