Ive got a proper crappy week ahead of me this week and am dreading it.

Ive got a consultant appointment of thursday and they want to take bloods off me, which is a major ordeal for me, even local anaesthetic cream doesnt work and my fiance has to pin me down as I hate it soo much and panic, the consultant will also tell me that they will probably want to do a blood glucose curve which will be even worse than having just one needle and I dont think they will be able to get more than 1 lot off me ( they wont put a catheter in my hand or arm), I cant help it but the fear makes me lose the plot.

Then on friday I have to say goodbye to my old arab mare who is the mum of my home bred youngster is going to the great paddock in the sky, she has severe arthritis in her hocks, front fetlock and her knee, she hasnt responded to treatment and her hock is now crumbling and she is very lame and in pain and is miserable. She is on high doeses of pain relief this week so she can a week in the field being a horse and spend time with her son and her companion.

She will be put quietly to sleep in the field with her son and friend by her side so she isnt stressed and I will leave her with them for a bit so they can say goodbye. My future father in law is going to bury her in the corner of their paddock and plant a tree over her.

Not expecting a reply but am really miserable.

oh what a horrible week!

whenever i am scared or worried about something i spend some time in my head telling myself it will be fine and i've been through some horrible tests in the past, try and think that this time next week the blood test will be done, i know its easy to say but the more you think about not liking it, the harder it is.

and that is so sad about your horse, when my dog was put to sleep he had been ill and in a way it helps to know they are out of pain. hope you are ok xxxx

Oh hun I am so sorry about your horse, having animals is an amazing experience and you are really doing the very best thing for her. For differing reasons I had to have 4 pets put down last year and had to tell myself this every time, it doesn't make it easier at first but it does eventually. You need something to look forward to at the weekend, book or plan something that you can concentrate on during your blood tests xxxxxxx

So sorry about your horse. I find my time with my animals very rewarding and it's so hard to say goodbye. I'm glad youve got the opportunity to plan it properly.

I hope you can find something to focus on during your blood tests. Fx it's goes ok for you.

Oh hun
Im so sorry about ur horse, but it sounds like you are giving her the best last few days possible and that is so lovely.
Im such a softie when it comes to pets. It honestly feels like losing a member of ur family when their time comes.
But it sounds like uv done everything possible, and it will get easier with time xxx

So sorry to hear about your horse :( agree with the others, plan something nice to do at the weekend, to give yourself something to look forward to.
As for the bloodtests, they will only take seconds, just focus on the reason why you're having them - it's for your baby, to make sure everything is ok with them- that should be a good enough reason to go through ANYTHING :) you'll be fine, they're only little needles, and it'll be over before you know it.

Aw I'm so sorry. I know the worse thing is obviously the horse but it doesn't help that you got the needles in the same week. I know though that you'd rather have a dozen needles in your arm everyday than having to see the horse go. There's nothing I can say to make you feel better as I know its such a horrible thing but it's for the best and the horse will be at peace. A hard but brave and much needed decision. At the moment try not to get too upset been though its hard...you need to be strong and heatlhy ATM. Hope you're ok xx

Not a good week to look forward to it at all :(! Im sorry to hear its going to be really crap for you, big hugs xxxxxxx
