Hi ladies i also wanna join this club! im a 18 bottoms and 16 top (although easily 18) i was told because of my bmi that i would need to do a glucose tolerance test because im at higher risk of gestational diabetes but this wont be done till week 24. xx

I'm joining too. I'm a size 16 on a good day and 5'1". When I last saw my mw I had a BMI of 31, so got myself a wii fit so I could keep a close eye on my weight. After not eating last week cos of stress at work I now have a BMI of 29.9!!
Will still probably have to go for the GTT at 24weeks as I will quickly put the weight back on now I have my appetite back.

Hi Ladies I want to join!!

I am a size 14 and im 5ft 3 and a bit! now i was on weight watchers just beofr efound out i was pregnant and Ilost 8lb but it was a real struggle then I found out i was 8weeks pregnant which why it was a struggle to loose weight!

I had my booking app on friday and the midwife said oh you have a BMI of 28 and gave me a dirty look, now this midwife was much bigger than me and I thought it very hypocritical of her to make me feel bad when she must understand what its like! :-(

Hey Ladies another PPP here!

Just got my BFP last thurs so I think Im about 5ish weeks...off to Drs this morning and MW on tues but Im DEF a PPP!

I was previously a 22/24 bottoms and 18/20/22 tops! Then DH was dx with diabetes 4 weeks ago and we started a major lifestyle change and between us have lost nearly 3 stone!

So here I am....PPP...still wearing 22 bottoms although a little big bigger for me now and tops are 18/20s again but not for long!

Changing our lifestyle has made a massive difference and while Im still happy and proud of me and who I am I do want to stay healthy and eat healthy so who knows what I will be by the time baby arrives!

I am take monthly pics for my ref only as Im still a big lady so wont notice bump for a long time yet but hey ho im happy!

So weres everyones whos PPP bump pics??? xxx

im def in this but its weird my bmi is 33 and midwife said nothing about it more then if it would have been over 35 i would hve been high risk. no mention of the diabetic test or consultants or anything?

Wow really Isobel! Well you must be fighting fit me dear and good for you! :-) xxx

nah the guilt trip starts in the first trimester if at all. They gave me leaflets on the risks of being obese during pregnancy and birth and then told me I wasnt allowed to diet  Then gave me a free pass to slimming world. I was beside myself. They weighed me and caculated my BMI as 30 at 11 weeks. The way they were with me you'd think I just told them I'd recently started injecting class A drugs. Cos they said my weight in kg I didnt really know what it was. It was only when I got home and looked i was like WTF?! thats not right! I was shocked my BMI was 30 but I hadnt worked it out for a while so just accepted it.

I went back for my Downs syndrome blood test and they weigh you then cos it affects the calculation somehow, and I was 5lb lighter at 16 weeks than they recorded at 11 weeks. As if, I know I hadnt lost that weight, but they refused to change my BMI leaving me 'high risk', of what I hear you cry... they arent that specific :wall:

i cant belive that tiny! thats really rude.
Im sure that if you are very overweight it might affect your unborn baby, but as my MW said, BMI under 35 is not to bad, and to be honest, i know im big noone need to push a folder in my face about it.
Like its not scary enough carrying a child, they dont have to try and make us feel guilty.

My MW have not weighed me since i was 11 weeks. when will they start weigh me again?

i didn't even get weighed in pregnancy!!! i think i did the initial one hour first appointment and then never again.

tiny, i think that is so rude. 30 isn't that high is it? as if your 25 or under that is supposed to be the ideal bmi. so 5 more than that can't be much worse? people are so rude. it's surprising though when it's health professionals that are here to help YOU make you feel rubbish!! i would've complained or look at her body and say, you're not so skinny yourself, **** :@ lmao!! i hope you didn't let them affect you!! you're beautiful the way you are. you looked fine to me in tri 3 bumpy phptos and i couldn't understand why you wouldn't put one on missus! xxx

i seem to have nice mw my bmi is now 43 i have to test daily for gestational diabetes although i dont have it and was asked to attend a weight in pregnancy group but the way i have been delt with has been in a very supportive good way only downside is after loosing 7st iv put 3 on so far being preggers:(

My MW have not weighed me since i was 11 weeks. when will they start weigh me again?

no noones weighed me since the downs syndrome blood test I had. I asked why and they said they didnt want pregnant women stressing too much about weight. A BIT LATE FOR THAT!!!! They also told me to be careful not to gain 'too much weight' but when I asked what that is, noone would give me a straight answer!! Bloomin idiots!

Thats for all your kind words, I know what you all mean, okay my BMI is not ideal, but Im not like disabled by my weight or anything, and Ive got low blood pressure and passed 2 diabetes tests so its not like Ive got any related health problems

Im definately going to set myself a weight loss target before we TTC our 2nd child. Im not going be called 'high risk' again!!!

I think they should be a bit more supportive to mothers-to-be with a higher BMI, instead of critisizing us!
I mean, to be fair, we're only going to be getting bigger!
It's not like you can go on a diet while you're pregnant!
And not everybody is flippin perfect!
Hmph!

Oh, and, if anyone is handy with the blinkies... speak up! I'm trying, but not very successfully!
Any ideas as to what it should say? As the whole title is too long for a blinkie I think?

i'm not in tri 1 hun but i'm a plus size too... depends where i shop but go from anything from a 14-18 on top and 16-20 on bottom... xx

I suppose it's a bit biased having it just for Tri 1 girlies.... I think I'll have to broaden the spectrum!
